Product Review: Not Worth the Hassle
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this at a retail store near my home, and it was a piece of crap. Quit working after only 2 days. I retured it and the replacement was just as bad. I will be going back to get my refund tomorrow and be done with it.

Product Review: accuracy and battery usage
Summary: 1 Stars

This scale is awful. When I first got it, it said I weighed about 30 pounds more than I actually weigh. I tested it with other normal household goods. Still, it consistently overweighed them. So I returned it and got another one.

The second one worked great-- for about two months. Then I noticed that the display was dim. Had it really drained the batteries in only two months? I replaced the batteries.
The display was still dim. It was a defective scale --but now I could not return it.

Product Review: Became inaccurate over time - unreliable
Summary: 1 Stars

This scale appeared to work well the first month I had it. A few months after owning the scale, it started to show me losing weight (my goal was to gain weight, unfortunately) at an alarming rate... eventually, I got fed up with the scale and, using a piece of shelving to distribute the weight evenly, I placed a pair of 60 lb dumbbells (120 lbs total) on the scale to see what it would read. Sure enough, the reading was about 15 lbs too low. Taylor Scale=FAIL

I then scoured the web to see if there was a way to recalibrate or "zero" the scale. I looked over everything I could find on the company's website. I found nothing helpful and tossed the POS.

On a lesser note, I was also a little skeptical of the Athlete vs. Non-athelete bodyfat settings... I think the "athlete" settings were a few percentage points too low, and the non-athlete settings were clearly too high.

I'm an active 150lb 25 year-old male, and I do not approve of this product.

Product Review: Poorly constructed
Summary: 2 Stars

The build quality of this scale is terrible. The up and down buttons on the top of my scale did not depress when I pressed on them to adjust the height and weight accordingly for each profile.

After 3 months, the scale now reads ERR1 everytime someone tries to use it. I presume it's malfunctioned and needs to be tossed out.

It creaked everytime my wife and I got one and she's under 100lbs. while I'm 180. It felt like the plastic ring was going to crack.

Overall, I would have been better off getting a digital scale from Walmart or Target instead of buying this one. I should have listened to the reviews.

Product Review: Great scale, horrible battery life.
Summary: 4 Stars

I really like this scale. It works well, is simple enough to operate, and looks good sitting in the bathroom. I have a habit of weighing myself each morning and tracking my weight online, so this scale gets used once a day. I've found though that the battery runs out after only about 2 months of use - and it takes those expensive "watch batteries" that cost $4+ each. The batteries alone make this scale a lot more expensive than it appears. I don't know why the manufacturer couldn't have just made the thing operate on an AA or AAA battery, it would have been so much less expensive to operate and gone a lot longer on one battery versus the tiny watch batteries. If you buy this scale, consider the ongoing battery cost in addition to the up front scale cost. At $2/mo this scale will cost you an extra $25 in the first year.
