Product Reviews of TarGard Mini Filters - Bulk Economy Pack (100 Per Pack)Product Review: Know the Facts Summary: 3 Stars
This filter may reduce some tar and nicotine from going into your lung, it doesn't block-out tar significantly as many people think. It will still stain your teeth brown, let harmful substances go into your body, and still make you stink like cigarette. If you're a nicotine addict like me and have some self-consciousness about your health but lacks willpower, why not use it? I don't know how much less harmful cigarettes maybe with this product but just watching tar accumulate even after 5 cigarettes or so makes you wonder what your lung really looks like one pack a day for 20 years. I guess some what of true benefit of using this product is watching the tar build up and be more aware of your health then insignificant amount of tar this filter captures per cigarette. So moral of my story is, if you think this filter captures tar and harmful substances enough to make cigarette any safer than not using the filter, you're fooled by great sales pitch of this product.
Just remember back then, how cigarette companies made you think if you smoke, you're cool & smooth as a Marlboro Man and Joe Camel and light cigarettes are much safer than the full flavored ones.
Product Review: Not So Much Summary: 2 Stars
I ordered these for my Mom who isnt interested in quiting smoking but still wants to cut back on the chemicals and tar from cigarettes. These got to her quickly, and fit on her particular brand of cigarette just fine, but they did not seem to help. You really have to take a heavy drags when using these tips in order to get a suffecient amount of smoke and afterwards there really isnt any visible residue. Great idea, not so great a product. This is not to say ALL tips do not work, just these particular ones.
Product Review: SPOKE TOO SOON Summary: 2 Stars
The price on these filters is better than anything else I found locally or on the internet. I receive my orders quickly and rarely find a defective filter. I do have to pull harder to smoke my cigarettes with these but the tar it's removing is very noticable. One filter is good for 7-8 cigarettes and the taste is the same as a straight cigarette. I carry extras in my purse and a lot of my friends, and even strangers, have asked where I get them. For those of us who have not given up smoking, these filters are wonderful. I know it's an added expense with the excessive taxes our governments have already placed on cigarettes, but they're worth the extra money.
UPDATE 4-9-2011: I spoke too soon on this product. When I ran out of these I purchased two other brands, locally...TarBar and TarStopper...to hold me over until I could place an order. Well, I found that the TarGard have only 4 holes, which were beginning to make my jaw ache from the strong pull I had to use.The two new brands that I purchased both have 6 holes, making each draw a lot easier, yet still removing a lot of tar and nicotine! My jaw is grateful for the change and I'm not getting the headaches I was when using TarGard! I won't be buying these any more. When you're looking for cigarette filters, check out how many holes are on the plastic insert before you buy them. It makes a huge difference.

Product Review: TarGuard filters Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using TarGard for the past four years. A nurse told me about then when my husband was in the hospital for emergency heart surgery. He quit smoking (and has never smoked since) after they put a couple of stints in his heart. I still smoke but have cut down to 1/2 pack a day from 1 1/2 packs per day with the help of this product. At first I had the same problem that many have with the filters being defective. I found that if you use a toothpick to clear the tiny hole when you find a filter that is clogged, you will be able to use virtually all the filters in the bag. You can also straighten a paper clip and insert in the hole if you don't have toothpicks handy. Works for me and I can use one filter for a pack because the toothpicks not only clear the opening but can be used to later clean it out to a certain degree, extending the life of the filter. Hope the tip works for you as well. This review is for the amber color filters, not the Mini. Don't think the toothpick would work on the mini filter.
