Product Reviews of Tanita HD351 Digital Scale with Memory FunctionProduct Review: Excellent Product Summary: 5 StarsFinally, a digital scale that is consistently accurate and easy to read. I have thrown out digital scales before because of lack of accuracy. This one is a keeper and worth the price. In addition, every time you weigh, the scale also shows your weight from the previous weigh-in--for up to five people, who each have a separate "on" button. I recommend it highly.
Product Review: Great scales! Summary: 5 StarsThis is the third set of digital scales I have owned, one was Weight Watchers and I don't remember the other brand. It is the first that I can get the same results over and over. If I stepped on the others 4 times I would get 4 different weights. I really like these. Wish I had found these first.
Product Review: Great Scale Summary: 5 StarsI have had this scale since mid-September and have not had any trouble with it. It matches the scale at my doctor's office, which helps me with consistency. I don't really need 5 memory spaces, but if I were sharing the scale with others, I would appreciate it.
Product Review: Best high-weight-limit home scale Summary: 5 StarsI spent several days researching this online before choosing this maker & model last November, and found this unit to have a great price, great accuracy, great ease of use (no finickiness about foot placement or floor placement), and to be very economical where batteries are concerned. We've had ours for daily weigh-ins for two people for a couple of months and haven't needed new batteries yet.
What I learned about scales which try to do a BMI reading through your feet is, they are NOT accurate and they tear through batteries as often as weekly! Get this scale instead, and use the money you've saved to get a handheld BMI reader, like the Omron sold by Amazon. Yes, it's two pieces of gear instead of one -- but would you rather have two *accurate* devices which both have very good battery life, or one grossly inaccurate device which eats batteries like candy?
Also, most high-weight home scales top out at 300, 330, or 360 pounds. This Tanita model goes far beyond that, to 440 -- and still offers better accuracy, better price, and more family convenience (five users can compare current weight to last weight) than the models with the lower weight limitations. It's a steal. And no, I don't work for Tanita! :)
UPDATE: I reviewed this January, 2007. In January, 2009, the scale is still going strong on the original set of batteries.
Product Review: Great Buy/Very Accurate! Summary: 5 StarsI am very impressed with this scale. It is very accurate. Being pregnant, I became very frustrated weighing on my old scale, then going to the doctor and weighing about 6 pounds more. I always hated that feeling. I felt like my scale lied(or I hoped the doctor's scale lied because it always weighed more). Anyway, it was my scale because the Tanita weighs exactly the same as the doctor's scale. Now I'm not frustrated because I know exactly what I weigh. I may wish the scale still said 6 pounds less, but at least it is accurate now!
