I looked up the various amounts of body fat scales, and found Tanita target focus is on body comp scales. The higher models are geared towards the more athletic group. What a great scale. Although it weighed me being a lb heavier than the scale i was using at home from WalMart, i know its well calibrated and can also keeps track of my water weight which so many people dont consider when weighing yourself. I'm really pleased with this scale. At first I thought the bodyfat reading was too low. Then I had a caliper reading done at the gym (by the same person that usually checks it for me) and the readings were within 1 percent of eachother. Now I'm convinced that it's really accurate and I don't have to bother doing it at the gym anymore.Product Review: Great scale

Our 6 year old Tanita broke when I accidentally dropped it, so we wanted another one. This one is much more accurate, looks nicer and I like the athlete mode as the old one didn't have it and always overstated my body fat. The addition of the water % content is also nice. Only gave 4 stars because I'd like to be able to have metric for one person and pounds for the other instead of having the same for both.
