Bought this scale after studying lots of owner reviews. My experience after about six weeks, matches best with the top reviews. The scale works correctly right out of the box. Setting up the data for two main users was relatively simple. Using the scale every day reveals that the unit functions reliably. It is sensitive and responds to daily changes in eating patterns, exercise activities and fluid intake. BMI and total body water percentage numbers remain very steady even though weight will fluctuate 2-3 pounds in a week. I can't say whether the BMI and TBW number are accurate in and of themselves, but they serve me well as reference points. I would certainly recommend this scale to other folks who want something more than a spring-based bathroom scale.Product Review: Tested

I received this product about 2 weeks ago, being my first digi scale purchased I have mixed feelings. First off when i get on the scale it gives me one weight, 30 seconds later a different weight so i'm a little skeptical about its accuracy. The readout is big and clear. I've had other digital scales and never been satisfied -- can't read them, they don't work on carpet, not accurate, etc. I've had this Tanita BF680W for over three months now and I can attest that the other positive reviews are correct. Here's what I like: I can read the display even with my glasses off; the scale is rock solid accurate as measured against professional models at the gym; I was skeptical about the body fat monitor, but it IS consistent even if not as accurate as other types of measurements; I can have my own preset numbers and my wife can have hers, too. Others have said the batteries last at least a year. Can't say, but no problem so far.
Here's what you might want to do: the literature says this works on carpet. Maybe -- if the wind blows in the right direction. But, I have no problems because I took an unused piece of wooden shelving and placed it under the scale so it is on a hard level surface. Between uses, I simply slide it and the scale under the clothes rack in the closet with my foot. Works great!

I been using this product for about an year and let me tell you dont buy it save your money.Not even worth a dollor.Every time i step on this scale it says over 20 and sometimes 31% but my real bf is 15-17.14% bf difference is too much and even in athletic mode it never shows a value below 20.Save your money and get an Omron body fat.It way better than this crap and holds upto 9 people and close to caliper measure.
