Product Reviews of Tanita BF679W Duo Scale Plus Body Fat Monitor with Body WaterProduct Review: A great scale at a reasonable price Summary: 5 Stars
Personally, I think this is a great scale. It gives consistant readings, never jumping around like my old cheaper digital scale, and I like being able to see my exact weight down to 1/5 of a pound. It's easy to use, as long as you follow the directions (you have to remember to stand on it as directed, and make sure your feet are clean!). I don't know how eaxctly accurate the body fat and body water percentages are, but they seem to be in the correct range, and are very consistant as well. The only real drawback to this product is that it's pretty ugly, but I think with it's consistant results, and reasonable price, it's a great deal. I am very glad that I purchased it.
Product Review: A very durable scale that is accurate for the most part Summary: 3 Stars
The Tanita Duo Scale Plus Fat Monitor is considered a very durable scale that is accurate for the most part, with some reported exceptions usually involving external factors. If you are planning to count calories, or monitor heart rate and body fat during your intense workout sessions, then a Tanita monitor is certainly nothing less than a safe buy. Jody Bissoon
Product Review: Accurate Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned this scale and used it regularly since 11/07. It is still working flawlessly on the original batteries. There is about a 0.2 - 0.4 lb range of readings, depending on how you stand on it, but readings repeat within that range always. I never used any of the other features and don't really know what they are - I just wanted an accurate scale and this does the trick.
Product Review: Accurate Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned this Tanita scale for 4 months now. I just use the weigh-only function and the scale has been very accurate so far.
Product Review: Accurate Scale - Jury Still Out On Body Fat Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this scale about a week ago and have found it to be the most accurate scale I've ever had. It's consistent with the one at work I use, which is the weight balance type.
I've found the body fat measurement to be very consistent. Tanita recommends monitoring yourself at a consistent time (a few hours after eating in the evening). I'm consistent by .5%. If I try it any other type, it's the same. Not much variation.
However, I am a bit skeptical about results. Both my wife and I are fairly lean folks (the lucky gene). I fall under the normal range (15%). However, she consistently registers at a very low percentage rate (at 7%) - which neither she nor I believe.
