Product Reviews of Tanita 6102 Cardio Heart Rate MonitorProduct Review: Good Buy Summary: 4 Stars
For the price, this is a good item. When readings were compared to a more expensive brand and the gym equipment it was accurate. Only drawback is, you will get an error reading if you are in the midst of strenuous activity that prevents you from being still enough for it to register, but still a good buy for under $50.
Product Review: Good for morning resting heart rate results Summary: 3 Stars
This device is a simple and fairly accurate way to measure your heart rate. I use it to determine my resting heart rate in the morning and at various times throughout the day. It is sensitive to movement and therefore sometimes produces erroneous results. For this reason I would not recommend it to determine your heart rate while exercising. For accuracy I take my heart rate 2 or 3 times. You can't beat the price but I wish it was backlit.
Product Review: Good for my purpose Summary: 4 Stars
The monitor is relatively cheap, easy to use, and mostly accurate. The one gripe I have is that if I take my pulse 3 times in one minute or less the rate can range by up to 40 points! Usually, this is not a problem. I tend to check it 3 times and average the 3 which is sufficient for my purposes.
Product Review: Great if you follow your resting HR Summary: 5 Stars
I keep it on my bedside table to check my AM resting HR. It's been perfectly accurate. It's great, because it beats wearing a chest strap, or counting while I'm still half asleep. But it's probably not the best choice for exercise - you really have to be perfectly still.
Product Review: Not to impressed Summary: 2 Stars
Works about a third of the time. I have gone back to measuring the old fashion way (finger on the neck.)
