I got this for my mother who is legally blind and she loves it. It is easy to use and great for her as she can't see any of her clocks. She likes that it tells her the time and the date and day. Very nice product.Product Review: Keeping Time

Great little product. We enjoy hearing the time announced each hour with a pleasant voice. If they make one that announces the date, day, and time automatically we may buy it also. This model does announce the date and day but you do it manually. So far it does it's job and keeps perfect time.

This is an okay unit. I would just be aware of the following:
1) Even though this clock only works in the US, it speaks in a British accent.
2) Volume control has two settings: high and low.
3) Automatically setting the time can take a long time--up to hours--and might only work at night. I thought I would just turn it on and it would set itself in about the same amount of time that it takes my cel phone to get a signal. It's not like that at all. As I understand the documentation, once it sets itself, it only checks the radio signal at 2:00 am.
4) Setting the time manually is slow because you can only increment/decrement the minutes, not the hours. If the radio signal was more robust this wouldn't be an issue.
5) You can't simultaneously have the alarm set and the hourly time announcement.
6) The hourly announcement starts at 8:00 am. If that's when you want it to start you're in luck. If not, the only other option is to turn it off.

This clock is fabulous for macular degeneration sufferers. Only one large button on top means not having to feel around for the right button.
