Received this for dad who is in a nursing home and is blind. He loves it. He can not easily change the settings. His blindness occured late in life, therefore, he did not have to adjust to being blind as someone who has had more of a lifetime to learn with his visual disability coupled with some dementia. This was a problem with other talking clocks that had a lot of different buttons for settings. When he reached to touch the clocks simply to get the time, he would ultimatly hit a change setting button. Frustrating for him and the staff because some clocks for the visually impaired are pretty complicated to reset. This clock is very user friendly and a bonus temperature reading. It allows him to have better control of his environment. The temp device lends reality orientation to his obsessive disorder by alowing him to know the temperature in his room at any given time instead of relying on staff that would otherwise dismiss his concerns.
