Product Review: Wears off very quickly, children get used to the taste

We picked this up at Walmart and wish we'd seen the reviews first. It wears off terribly quickly. If you have a child that thumbsucks with any frequency, you'll be reapplying this several times a day, if not hourly. Also, my 2 yo quickly became used to the taste and it didn't bother her even when first applied. The taste is soon gone, and so she could ignore it for a short time until she got to that point.
If you want to help your child stop thumb-sucking or nail-biting, try Mavala Stop-Nail Biting and Thumb Sucking Prevention, 10ml. That's what I'm going to do.

After having seen some reviews I tried first to buy Mavala at our local drug stores without success. So I thought to give THUM, the only available product in local drug stores, a chance. My son (5) was thrilled and came unfortunately over and over again and asked me to put more Thum on his fingernail! He thought it smells great and liked the taste! The result was that my son was sucking even more his thumb, what a great product. So watch out as children seem to become hooked on THUM! Now I have ordered Marvala and am desperately awaiting the product having seen all the successful reviews!Product Review: What a joke!!

We puchased this from a local pharmacy to help our six year old to stop sucking her thumb, and it didn't work AT ALL. I put a LIBERAL amount on her thumbs, and then did the same to mine (to test it). I could barely taste a thing. It was slightly peppered in flavor, that's it. She was sucking her thumb again in minutes. I'd also like to note that my child does not like pepper type flavors, and often complains when food is "too spicy"! She has even said this of foods that are not spicy. Yet this stuff didn't even make her flinch.
I ordered Mevala Stop off of amazon, and she hasn't sucked her thumb since it arrived. I did the same test, and 9 hours later (including a shower along with dishes and scrubbing at it), my thumb still tastes VERY BAD! Skip Thum, and go straight to Mevala Stop.

I have a 3 and 1/2 year olf that sucked his thumb. It literally only took a week for him to quit. I'm really surprised it worked, but it did!! My son did NOT complain of it hurting when I applied it, however he did complain of how bad it tasted if he tried to suck his thumb.
