Product Review: Doesn't work
Summary: 1 Stars

Does not work. Called 1-800-742-9220 they will send me a coupon to buy another one - this will take 2-3 weeks.
They should have sent a replacement.
Should be a zero star

Product Review: Doesn't work
Summary: 1 Stars

I can't stand this mop. I have used it for a quick clean up and the whole house and everytime, even with a brand new pad on, it leaves my floors sticky. I am surprised Swiffer still sells this product. Have they not tested it? Don't buy it! All you need is a mop, hot water and vinegar and it does the job great.

Product Review: Don't be fooled by the "black" pad
Summary: 1 Stars

I used this on my tile floor -- granted, it doesn't say it's for tile floors, but I thought I would give it a try. The blackness of the pad was impressive.... at first, but then I decided to do another test. Taking a clean pad IN HAND, I squirted some of the solution onto ONE tile -- a tile I had already cleaned by the way. Oddly... there was some "dirt" there, but on closer inspection of that tile, I also saw a couple of little tiny black dots embedded in the nooks and crannies of the tile. Hmmmm. So.. using now, a clean rag, I sprayed the tile with "LA's Awesome", and made it squeaky clean. Took yet ANOTHER pad, sprayed the tile with the wet jet solution... and it was blackening once again.

I had noticed in the weeks that I had been using the wet jet that the grout in my tile was getting darker and darker. I finally got down on my hands and knees and did a really close-up inspection of my tile. Black streaks here and there. So... the wet jet wasn't picking up the dirt -- it was smearing it around and leaving it in the grout, and the nooks and crannies.

So, I cleaned my floor and scrubbed the grout with LA's Awesome and then did the wet white-papertowel test: A little water, go over the tile... it remained white.

I now have 'redesigned' my wet jet: I take a microfiber washrag, fold it in half, and stick it to the bottom of my wetjet. I then spray the floor (not with the swiffer solution) and wipe it with the rag. Peel off the rag and rinse it in the sink. And if you can't stand dirt on your hands, wear gloves!

I don't know what's in that swiffer solution but in my opinion it has something in it that reacts with the pad and makes it turn black, and makes you "think" it's doing something.

I take pride in having a clean house, as many shoppers do, and have no qualms about scrubbing my floor the old fashioned way -- on my knees! Swiffer has great marketing... but that's about it.

Product Review: Don't do it!
Summary: 1 Stars

I love to clean, and thought for sure I was going to love this mop- I didn't. It's expensive to buy the starter kit, but also expensive to continue use. Somewhat of a money pit really. The cleaning solution smells awful, musty and chemical like. I took mine back the very next day! I have a microfiber cuff that I purchased at Home Depot that can fit over the end of a traditional swiffer and be removed in order to wash it, and I use Zep wood floor cleaner (also available at Home Depot) in a spray bottle. This smells so much better and is so much cheaper!

Product Review: Don't know what people are complaining about...
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to say... I must be lucky or something. I have never had a problem with my swiffer wet jet -- except the time I put a pad on upside down... or should I say downside up :) I rarely fill out these review things, but I think only the angry are reviewing this product, so I had to write. I LOVE the product. It is true, you have to get up as much free roaming dirt and particulates as possible before using it. I use the regular swiffer first and a dustbuster occasionally (I bet the combo swiffer with the vacuum would work great). If you do that and you don't have a huge mess to clean, this thing works great. It does leave chemical on the floor, which will spot on shiny tile, but for matte tile and other sealed flooring, it works wonderfly with NO build up -- it doesn't smell bad either. The batteries last a long time. The cleaner does too if you don't spray it all over the place -- a little goes a long way. Foe the people who worry about "disinfecting" the floor... you are nuts. One stroll across the floor and the bacteria/viruses are BAAAAACK, and who eats off the floor anyway... babies maybe... good for their immune systems, I say. FYI Steam cleaning the floor doesn't kill anything. I have one of those too, this is better. I have written enough! Get one and try it!
