Customer Review: LEAKY WHITE DUST MAKER

When I first bought this humidifier I loved it. It was quiet and easier to clean than most humidifiers. But over a few months, it started leaking water and didn't emit a very strong mist.
It was still under warranty, so I mailed it to Sunpentown. They supposibly fixed it. They replaced the element and supposibly fixed the leak. A few days later, I was unhappy to find a huge puddle of water under it as before. It seems that if I leave it off with water in it for a small period of time, it leaks. For the price of shipping this thing TWICE, I could have bought a new one of these, so am not shipping back again. As the problem would probably still be unresolved.
Another thing is this humidifier produces white dust like a champ. Expect white dust to be all over your furniture, books, cds, and appliances within a few days. Its funny how you can google "white dust" and find virtually no explanation for it. So breathing in piles of this stuff is probably great for your lungs. About every 2 days this white stuff is everywhere. I even have a huge Holmes air filter with 3 large micro filters, which don't seem to help much.
My old noisy dirty humidifier almost seems better considering all I've gone through with one. I've had to soak up huge puddles of water under this thing at least a dozen times and had important papers ruined by this. This product is either poorly designed or made with low quality parts.
