Product Reviews of Sunbeam Health at Home Easy To Use King Size Moist/Dry Heating Pad, BlueProduct Review: Excellent product Summary: 5 Stars
This heating pad is excellent. The size is nice for me, it hits my lower back and my neck at the same time, and I'm 5'6". I like that it turns itself off after two hours. It actually isn't good for the muscles to be heated long-term, that just makes things worse. The temperature is really fairly hot on this. I've used it on low and medium only depending on the ambient temperature and on the amount of clothes I have on. I just haven't needed to put it on high, but that's just me. the sponge that comes with it looks just like every other one I've seen. I haven't used, but have used other ones just like this and they work just fine. The price is the best I've seen so far anywhere. I've come back to buy one for my son.
Product Review: Fair...could be better Summary: 2 Stars
This replaced an old Sunbeam heating pad I bought 15 years ago at CVS and used to death. The quality is not nearly what I expected:
Pros-
1) No auto shut-off- a very hard to find feature
2) 9 foot cord
3) large size
4) reasonably priced at fifteen bucks and free shipping
Cons-
1) Horrible blue cover- cheap, scratchy, uncomfortable. Secures with a single flimsy plastic snap, should have 2 or 3 snaps.
2) Very easily crinkles up when in use. I find I have to frequently smooth it out to make sure that the internal pad lines up appropriately on itself. The two sides of the actual white pad easily slide and get bunched up. My old one is one solid piece and much thicker with a thick plastic coating, this seems thin and flimsy.BEWARE: If a wrinkle forms and one spot is touching another, a dangerously super-hot spot forms.
3) Fire hazard- I try to always unplug it after every use. Times that I haven't, I have noticed that even though it is off, it has "hot spots" especially if folded up- really freaks me out. Let's face it, with a 9-ft cord, it is easy to use an outlet that is further away or less accessible for convenience. This increases the chances of leaving it plugged in. Because of it's generous size, it is not unreasonable to keep folded when not in use.
4) Inconsistent heat settings- It has three settings, the only decent one is the hottest setting, which seems to vary in intensity. Sometimes almost too hot to touch, other times it is barely enough.
I expected more but I guess you get what you pay for. This replaced a similar quality/priced sunbeam pad from 15 years ago and I guess that just don't make 'em like they used to:)
Product Review: Finally a heating pad WITH OUT automatic shut-off Summary: 5 Stars
I am very happy with with this product because it is one of
just a few heating pads still available today WITHOUT a built in automatic shut-off. I'm using it to make Yogurt which has to be continuesly heated at a low tempeture for up to 24 hours, so this is perfect.
Product Review: For my cats Summary: 5 Stars
I have it turned on almost constantly for my cat bedding. Love its size and the fact that it's not an auto shut off.
Product Review: GREAT SIZE - NO AUTO SHUT-OFF Summary: 4 Stars
Finally found a heating pad without the annoying auto shut-off AND it's king size with an extra long cord. Heats-up quickly and hot is HOT!!! Only negative is the very stiff cheap plastic cord; has yet to soften up & I bought this heating pad in January. Despite the cheap cord, I would definitely buy this product again.
