Product Review: Great Humidifier

I have had one of these models for over 10 years and purchased another one 2 years ago when my son was born. We use it frequently due to allergies and stuffed noses. We have never had a problem with the unit, except when we didn't get the soap out of it well enough. There are good and bad units and based on the other reviews they didn't get ones like ours. I should've trusted the reviews that said this product isn't good. But I thought maybe people just didn't read the directions and such. Well, I followed the directions to a T, even using filtered water instead of tap water.
The unit worked fine for the first couple of weeks. It wasn't ideal, because the mist output knob should be labeled "lots of mist" up to "way, way too much mist." But at the lowest setting, it was doing the job just fine. It was quiet, the gray color blended in quite well, and I liked that I could have the blue light on or not. I could leave the unit on all night and not worry about it going dry.
Then one day water started leaking out of the base of the unit. I tried it on three different surfaces, and checked to make sure I'd put the water reservoir back on correctly, just in case anything was crooked. Yup, everything was fine, and it still leaked. I am glad it broke within 30 days at least, so that I could return it to Amazon directly for a refund. I don't want to try this product again and hope to find a different humidifier that will do the job. I recommend not buying this product.

Have had this unit for 3 years now and it mostly still works.
The 2nd season we went to use it, the fan that pushes the mist up didn't work. There was a tiny fuse(the size of a grain of rice), that blew inside, that went to the fan. I fixed that issue and the fan worked that season.
This season I had to nudge the fan to get it going, but once going it works fine.
BUT, I would like to say the ultrasonic mister is very solid, I've had other ultrasonic humidifiers that didn't last due to the ultrasonic mister giving out. The Sunbeam's is still going very strong, and that's probably why I haven't given up on it due to the fan issue.
Also, no leaks around the base yet(knock on wood), and I really like the large opening in the tank for cleaning and filling.

This thing does not last. I just exchanged my 2nd one (so now own my 3rd humidifier) and this one is not working straight out of the box. The other two quit working after less than two weeks!!
