Product Reviews of Strollometer Wireless Stroller Speedometer/Odometer (Blue/Black)

Product Review: Best customer service EVER.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a Chicco Cortina travel system stroller and I recently purchased the Strollometer for use on this stroller as well as a jogging stroller we have not yet purchased. When I got the Strollometer, I installed the battery in the console but didn't have time to callibrate it. A few days later, the low battery sign on the console was flashing! I went out and bought 2 extra batteries and tried to calibrate the sensor. The black dot would blink, but never turned solid even though the meter read that I had gone 0.03 of a mile (up and down my driveway).

When I took it for a walk the next day, I was disappointed to find that the console wasn't picking up any signal from the sensor. I got down on the floor and manually moved the sensor over the magnet, but the green light just wouldn't go on. That's when I decided to email the Strollometer people to ask what I needed to do. Within a few hours, I had a return call from the co-inventor, Dan, as well as an email telling me exactly what I needed to try next. The next day, I took it for a walk again, and I still couldn't get a signal. I got another call from Strollometer, this time from the other inventor, Adi. She stayed on the phone with me for 15 minutes while I got the sensor off my stroller and tested it with the extra magnet. She walked me through all the potential problems that might be causing the lack of signal.

Even though I haven't used it yet, I am impressed with the customer service. Adi offered to send me extra foam wedges (the Cortina has a weird, oval shaped bar that doesn't fit the Strollometer securely), an extra battery (because I had to buy another one), and a new sensor (we figured out that mine might have been slightly loose where the washers connect to the part that attaches to your stroller leg). She even promised to go to Babies R Us to find my specific stroller to see what would be the best place for the magnet and sensor, take digital photos, and email me directions.

I know the Strollometer will be great once it's working, but I have to give it 5 stars for the customer service alone.

Product Review: Great idea...needs work
Summary: 2 Stars

I thought this would be great when my wife told me about it. It turns out however that the surface you walk on needs to be as smooth as glass for this to even be kind of remotely accurate. The best accuracy I could achieve was it clocking 1.4 miles for each mile we walked...and that was after a long time of set up. I even used digital calipers to accurately measure the wheels of the stroller. The sensor that reads the magnet on the wheel is so bouncy that I'm not sure it will get a correct reading with the slightest bumps in the road.

Would love to see the product improved.

Product Review: Great, but magnet falls off
Summary: 4 Stars

This product is great because it has so many features, like time, temp, speed and distance. It was also easy to install and program. The only issue is the instability of the magnet. It can fall off easily when you fold up and transport your stroller, etc. It only attaches using a strip of adhesive on the magnet. I wonder if there is a more secure way to attach.

Product Review: Opinion pending...
Summary: 4 Stars

I received my Strollometer for my birthday and am very excited to use it. Unfortunately, I didn't even get the thing installed before two of the three magnets were already off. I have a Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System stroller and there just doesn't seem to be a good place to place the sensor. Each time I folded up the stroller to make sure it wouldn't move the sensor, it bent it in some way and knocked off the magnet. :( So, although I still have the magnets, I am not sure if I can re-stick them as the glue seems to be weakened already. I have managed to get the third magnet stuck on and have programmed the computer, both things done with relative ease. I have also emailed "Adi" to inquire as to whether she might suggest placing the magnet in a different spot on my particular wheel and whether she might be able to send more magnets since it appears they are inevitably going to fall off and be lost. We'll see what happens next...
