Product Review: Awesome idea--but FUNDAMENTAL design FLAW

I was pretty excited about this product. I thought it would be neat to see how far and fast I was walking etc...
I rec'd the pkg and installed it right away on my Bugaboo Cameleon. My stroller was brand new and had never been used, so the wheels were not dirty at all. I followed the installation instructions which were very easy to use. The install took about 15 minutes. The bulk of that time was prepping the wheel and installing the magnet on the wheel.
I got it all installed and configured correctly. The next day I took it to the mall and went walking, enjoying my new product. I went home and then the next time I took my stroller out, it didn't work. Upon inspection I noticed my magnet had already fallen off and was gone--the very first time I used it. It must have happened when I folded up the stroller and put it in the trunk.
I emailed the customer service department at 9 months up 9 months down to ask if I could order more magnets b/c if I lose one every time I'm going to be out of magnets soon! They said not to worry they would send me more and to try some superglue.
So I tried the superglue and it was knocked off the first time I took it out too. My husband bought some super duper strenght epoxy to try and it still does not stick on. The magnet keeps getting knocked off (yes I scored the magnet and a part of the wheel for better adhesion).
I would try to install the magnet on the indside of my stroller wheel, but there really isn't a good place to do so.
So while this product works well and is a great idea, for me and my particular stroller--it doesn't work.

Within one week the strap snapped, the calibrating head came off - therefore the unit was completely useless.
During the one week the unit worked - the unit needs turning on for every journey (even return leg). So, if you forget to turn on the unit, you don't get a recording.
As a product design the calibration head sticks out significantly over the wheel. This makes the head susceptible to being knocked as you take the stroller in and out of doorways.
Better option I think is to buy a pedometer which can be put in a bag.

I got my Strollometer in the Spring and I love it. I use it on my Graco every day. When I first got it, I went on a track to confirm that the distance was accurate. It was on the mark!! Needless to say, its a great fitness tool for anyone with a stroller. Well done!
Product Review: Great.. if the magnet would stay on

I ordered this product about 4 months ago. I followed the instructions very carefully to attach the magnet. I thought it was odd that it would just "stick" to the wheel. I cleaned the tire with the the alcohol pad, I was careful not to touch the sticky side when I removed the backing, i attached it to the wheel and held it there for a while... still, once around the block and the magnet was lost for good.
I tried to superglue the magnet. I cleaned the wheel again and glued it... no success... I've now been through 2 of the 3 magnets. I am going to try epoxy for the last magnet; if that doesn't work, nothing will!
It worked well, before the magnet fell off. I can see why people would really like this thing and become "addicted" to it. I really liked the display and all the functions. It really did make walking fun.. for the block or two that it worked.
