We recieved the Thumb Guard 2 weeks ago and my 5 year old has quite the thumb completely! She was a true addict, sucking all day long every day. The guard is nice and soft silicone. This size was actually too big for my petite 5 year old. I should have ordered a small as she weighs less than 38 lbs and is about 38 inches tall, therefore she was able to wriggle her thumb out but we kept putting it back in. I did have to lay down with her at bedtime to make sure she didn't take her thumb out but she was able to fall asleep in under 10 minutes. It took about 12 days for her to no longer suck. For two nights, I painted her nail with Mavala while she was sleeping in order to remind her not to suck when she woke up in the morning. MAVALA Stop for Nail Biting and Thumb Sucking So far so good. We are planning the celebration party and she couldn't be more proud!
**A huge word of caution though. We did this in the summer with constant pool swimming, beach trips, and hot days. She got a couple significant blisters underneath it. Oddly she said they didn't hurt, so I think they were a reaction to the moisture and silicone. Bandaids and Neosporin helped.

It worked!!! It actually worked! My son is 7 and has sucked his thumb since he was born. He sucked it mostly at night or while watching tv or riding in the car. I put this on him and within a month and a half, the habit was gone! Its been almost 5 months since he stopped and he is so proud of himself! I got him a medium because he is a small boy. But I should have gotten the size it suggested by age. It fit him well but it was snug. It rubbed a small blister on him but a bandaid fixed that! He was, however, able to slide his thumb out from under it once the bracelet got stretched out a bit. But he didnt do it much because it hurt. The rubber is soft and flexable, which I liked. It came with more than enough bracelets. We didnt change them much because I didnt wanna run out. I thought it would take awhile of wearing it. But we ended up having a ton of them leftover. He wore it 24hrs a day. Even to school. Other kids thought it was kinda neat. He of course didnt tell them why he was really wearing it though. I was nervous about spending the money on it and unsure if It would work, but it was worth it! Im so happy I bought it for him before resorting to a dental thumbsucking device. I should have tried it a long time ago! I read a lot of reviews on here about it before I got it. A lot of people said the kids say it hurts them and whatnot. My son said that too a few times but it ended up being a cop out because he wanted me to take it off. He admits that now. :) I didnt take it off and I was consistent with it. and IT WORKED! My 4 yr old son frequently sucks his thumb during the day but mostly at night. I started him at night only. It worked for the week that he used it but could not send him to school with it because he was like an addict feening for his thumb. That was torture for him!! So I will restart the thumb guard this summer & gradually ween him off, hopefully we will have a better outcome! :)Product Review: LIFE CHANGING!!!!

This product is AMAZING! My 6 year old sucked her thumb ALL THE TIME! We tried many other products but all failed except this one. I know it is a bit expensive but it will save us thousands in dental bills. To me it is worth much more than what it costs. I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone who's child is a thumb sucker. The sooner the better. Don't delay. The longer you wait the harder it is on the child. Oh, and don't believe those people who tell you "they'll grow out of it" or "just wait till they start school, they'll stop because none of the other kids do it" BOLOGNA! They just make up for lost time when they come home!
