Customer Review: Three Stars is Not Necessarily Bad

I've had one of these for years. It is very sturdy and works fine for keeping beverages somewhat near the temperature at which they started (hot or cold) for at least a few hours.
A recent temperature retention test gave the following results:
0 hours: 198 degrees F
2 hours: 153 degrees F
4 hours: 127 degrees F
6+ hours: 111 degrees F
8+ hours: 104 degrees F
The ambient air temperature in my kitchen at the time was about 75 degrees F. The lid was kept on the entire time and the thermometer's probe was stuck through the small drinking hole.
However, this product is in no way water tight or even spill resistant. It is merely splash resistant. Tilt it far enough to the side and any liquid inside will dribble right out.
Also, if the beverage is hot, the top black plastic ring and inner silicone seal loosen and rotate as one tightens down the lid. This doesn't happen when the contents are at room temperature. I'm not sure whether this is a bad thing or not, but it does seem unusual.
While this is a perfectly adequate product for what it is, I wanted something that was spill proof. I found this and this. One has a little less capacity than the Thermos Nissan and one has a little more. As added bonuses, both retain heat far longer than the Thermos and come with little tea infusers.
Finally, for those who complain about getting a drip of coffee on their noses from the hinged doohickey on the Thermos, just rotate the cup slightly so that the doohickey is at one o'clock (eleven o'clock if you're a lefty).
