Same here, doubted it would work but wanted to try and bought a set of cholrine test strips along with it to check. Anyway, this actually does work!
The showerhead arrived even before the test strips and I could already breathe the difference in my bathroom, and started to be a believer.
After checking the results carefully though, I determined that it works very well for free chlorine, but NOT well for or in the presence of chloramines.
If you have high chloramine content, this isn't ideal for you. Vitashower is better in that case (no it's not a scam - vitamins really are used for real dechlorination, look it up online).
Even if you have chloramines and it doesn't remove everything, it does make the water feel better, so whatever else it is doing to the water feels good.

I purchased this shower filter last month and am extremely happy with it. Since using it on a daily basis since purchasing it, my hair looks better, my skin looks and feels better, and I just feel better overall. It was very simple to install and has excellent output--much better than my standard showerhead.Product Review: great product.......!

I live in south Florida and every time I get into the shower I would sneeze. Once I changed my shower head to this one, no more sneezeing. Im not sure what the shower head does, but it workes.Product Review: nice shower filter

I really do feel a difference. I had the sprite filter for about a year now and just replaced the cartridge.
I have tried a few other shower filters : Aquasana, VitaMaxTM Vitamin C inline filter. This is clearly the best.
My only issue is that it does not seem to last 1 year. For me it seems to last 7-8 months. Perhaps I should try switching the cartridge around after 6 months. I sent an email to customer service about this and they responded quickly. That was good.
I am just wondering if I can find another shower filter system that works as effectively and that it does for the first 3 months for the remaining 5 months (of the 8 months I keep the filter).
