Product Review: Does what it says but item shipped was not new

I am a 35 year old female, and have been practicing sports for most of my life. However, I have a chronic upper back pain that is due to the incorrect curvature of my neck (as a chiropractor said), and a bike accident three years ago might have contributed to it. I tried many things including buying a new bed but the pain is still there. It is worst in the mornings, and seems to alleviate with exercise and hot showers. Until now I was using two tennis balls to stretch my spine,by laying face up and rolling them back and forth along the sides of the spine. This does a pretty good job, except it is uncomfortable and you cannot lay down in this position for too long. I tried a chiropractor a couple of years ago, which was great, but could not afford it on a regular basis. The good thing about going to the chiropractor is that I learned that a realignment of the vertebrae can have a good effect instantaneously and it can even chase away migraines. More than one time I walked in her office tired and numb from pain and left 15 min later with lots of energy, a clear mind and no pain at all.
I've ordered the spineworx device because I've been looking for an alternative to going for a chiropractor for a number of years now. I've seen it gets all these good reviews , and I can say it is true. It does the job, and it does it well.I remember I used to feel dizzy after the chiropractor treatment - the good kind of dizziness - and tingling in the spine and it is the first time after the chiropractor that I had the same sensation when I got up from this device. It stretches and separates the vertebrae and releases the pressure they exert on the nerves. It does the headache trick too, try laying down on it when you have the next headache.
I just used it once so I cannot say anything about long term effects.

Cons: it is hard to relax on it, but I can't imagine any alignment device that would be comfortable. Being in a warm room and with a blanket underneath would help, I guess.
It doesn't come with any instructions, and although it may sound silly (just lay down on it !) I would really like to know how to position my lower back on it, since I am a short person (5"1) and I can't imagine how myself and a 6"2 person can use the device in the same way.
I wish it had some attachment for the neck so that the neck and spine get aligned together. I ordered a dogbone pillow too and I'm planning to sleep with it, but the alignment action will not be simultaneous for neck and spine.

And last but not least, I wish they had sent me a new item, since it is advertised as new. This one has obviously been used because the surface is buffed and scratched in a few places. It doesn't look like it has sagged or anything, but paying for a new item and receiving a used one doesn't feel good.

Overall, I am very happy with the concept (if not the actual item) and I am very confident I can get rid of my back pain now.

I have minor aches and pains in my back, and thought this device might be able to help with at least some of them. Unfortunately, the thing is useless even after having used it properly several times. This must be some kind of scam because there's no way the thing could possibly help the way others say it does, or that the advertisements for it say it should help. There's no way a piece of rubber railing is going to make your spine "realign" itself. Can't believe I fell for buying this.

I REALLY wanted this to work, but sadly, it has probably hurt more than helped. I followed the tips of others and used a towel to cushion the device. I tried it the first time on my bed, as the floor is just too hard. It seemed OK. The second day I tried the floor and was in terrible pain immediately. Since then I have used the bed and gave the device a week to see any help. I think I am worse than before. Use very cautiously! You can probably hurt yourself badly on this.

Doesn't fit the shape of my back or my husbands... I am only 5'5" and he is 6'4". It is also very hard to know if your spine is in between the guides.
