Product Reviews of Spine-Worx Back Realignment DeviceProduct Review: Be patient and it will work! Summary: 5 Stars
So I bought this thing after reading a lot of reviews that stated something like "Not good if you have scoliosis" and "I hurt myself and then read the instructions and found out I did it wrong" etc.
For me, it works. It took a little practice to get used to the pressure etc. but eventually I figured out how long it took my muscles to relax so the tool could do it's deed. I found for me it works best if I use it after a hot shower when my back muscles are already mostly relaxed, and a bit longer time, maybe 20 minutes, worked best for me.
When you first use this product you will most likely feel some pain/discomfort/pressure. The way this thing works is it supports your weight laying down on the "wings" of the vertibra and when your muscles relax the pressure of your own weight forces the vertibre to straighten out in relation to one another. The main thing to keep in mind is that you need to try to totally relax, meditate, whatever, just dont over do it on the first couple of trys and follow the instructions closely when it comes to having head support IE a pillow and getting off of the thing which is achieved by rolling to the side, not by sitting up. Sitting up WILL hurt you, and it will be your own fault.
Quick note- I also use a Dr. Riter Real Ease neck relaxer, and I find it works well as the head support when I use this back thing. It adds a bit of traction to your neck, and supports the weight so that your shoulders can relax too.
It was worth the money.
Product Review: Best I Have Found Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this hoping it would relieve my back pain that I have been living with for 8 or so years. I tried going to the chiropractor, and tried out an inversion table, neither one helped me that much. When I ordered the Spine-Worx I really didn't expect it to work as good as it does. After the first night of doing a 10 min session on it I felt a difference. I now do it everynight for 15 min and have been for a week. It really is the best tool to use for my backpain and I will use it from now on. Not to mention that it is also very relaxing, moving your arms and legs around really lets it hit certain target areas of your back. I have been recommending this to people I work with, and I recommend it to you also!
Product Review: Best thing for my back, ever Summary: 5 Stars
Lumbar spine pain, back pain on waking, difficulty standing up straight when I woke up, and headaches. Almost daily. Took Alleve and got some help.
I ordered a half dozen items from Amazon, for back issues and this ONE item was (among a few others) the BEST thing I bought and remains on my bedroom floor to this day. It has restored my back. I am 44 years old but I trained hard for years as a younger person and it took its toll on my bones and joints.
I laid on it, and probably did it wrong, but when I got up I told my wife, "I have seriously hurt myself, you may have to drive me to the hospital"
In 30 minutes I was OKAY. Not great.
The next morning my spine was like a kid's. Like when I was 20.
*Apparently* my spine was realigned and 44 years of "de-alignment" isn't painlessly restacked, ha ha ha!
I laid on it again the next day to see if I could make my back feel like when I was 10, or even 5. No way.
I will settle for painless, 20.
Here's two things:
The first time you use it it could hurt. So take it easy and don't lay on it for too long, try 2-5 minutes.
Second - if it seems to be jamming your lower back, it might BE. I found that even now it takes me some 'scooching' to get the lumbar crest (the highest part of the contraption) into the comfortable small of my back. Once there, you can feel your spine aligning. Ahhhhhh. Now, I lay on the thing while my wife does her make up and we talk, and I can be on it for whatever timeframe and it doesn't hurt. My back remains limber and painless unless I'm gone a few days and can't lay on it every other day.
Product Review: Better than a chiropractor! Summary: 5 Stars
After going to a chiropractor for well over a year with a chronic back problem, with the most heinous side effect of extreme neck stiffness, I was willing to give either an inversion chair or this product a chance so I could potentially avoid re-upping with the chiropractor. Essentially with the chiropractor's five to ten minutes of expensive weekly adjustments (back, neck/head), I was at best maintaining my results with the occasional setback. In other words, I was not making any forward progress, merely fixing what was still getting knocked out of alignment on occasion. I also had a bad sciatic nerve in my right leg that was exacerbated by long daily drives in my car (and driving the one day after work to the out-of-the-way chiropractor didn't help). The chiropractor's work was unable to provide any relief for that and he suggested (on my coaxing) that a lumbar support might help (prior to that he was suggesting pulling my seat as close as possible to the steering wheel, which rarely worked).
Anyway, long story short, with the price of inversion chairs, I was willing to give this low cost Spine-Worx device a try based on some of the comments on here. When I took it out of the box and laid on it the very first time, it was rather uncomfortable, but sure enough, after 15 minutes, I felt really good. Everything truly did seem to get put back into place where it was supposed to spine/vertebrae-wise. Again, I hadn't felt that good in years.
Initially, I was using it almost every day and after most every bodybuilding workout. More recently, I've come to the conclusion that it's best to use the device only when you suspect a problem might be creeping up or you put lots of pressure from the top-down on your back (such as squatting with a barbell or neck-wise when you're working shoulders). It's not necessarily the greatest for neck stiffness, as I had a bad problem with that once even when using this, but I believe I have resolved that too for the most part, mostly by making a slight adjustment to my placement on the Spine-Worx. Otherwise, I've had no real problems whatsoever, and in fact as a nice bonus, my sciatic leg rarely acts up in the car (certainly not during my typical 1 hour+ one way work trip, only during a one way 4 hour trip in a snowstorm). It has truly worked wonders. I may mate this with an inversion chair at some point, but it really is fine as-is. I highly recommend it, especially for the price.
What I didn't like, however, was the lack of instructional material. I even went to the manufacturer's Website and there really is little guidance in the proper use of the device. That's something that really needs to be addressed. I realize that having the "lower back" indicator on the device should tell you all you need to know about the ends where your lower back and conversely your head should go (the latter of which dangles off a bit if you don't put a pillow under your noggin), but some educational material about placement and other options would be appreciated. Also, be careful in getting up. I've found you can sometimes fatigue your back by laying on the device and it helps to have a partner pull you straight up off the device rather than trying to roll off to one side or the other, which runs the risk of knocking something out of alignment again. Obviously laying on the device at times can be more intense than at other times, all depending on the condition of your back at that moment. Just be aware of those things and I think you'll be quite happy with the device. Good luck!
Product Review: Beware of the Spineworx! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought it, I tried to use it, my back was in so much pain. It's very hard and presses on your spinal cord, causing pain. U may need to seek medical help if you use this. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. If you're having back problems, don't try to heal yourself. Seek medical professional help only.
