Product Reviews of Source Naturals L-Lysine, Free Form, 500mg, 200 Capsules (Pack of 3)Product Review: Great product and great price Summary: 5 Stars
I take 500mg Lysine once a day to prevent the outbreak of cold sore inside my nose.
It has been helpful-no outbreak since taking it regularly. It is a great price.
Product Review: Great product! Fast acting and easy to swallow! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a difficult time finding Lysine in capsules in my area. They are typically hard, chalky pills. Taking these at the first tingle of a cold sore usually suppresses it completely. Good price too.
Product Review: no more scratchy throat Summary: 5 Stars
I dreaded the cheap stamped tables with what felt like a razor sharp edge that used to scratch my throat. These on the other hand are capsules which slide down my throat without even feeling them. I purchase capsules from three different brands: Source Naturals L-Lysine, Country Life L-Lysine with B-6, and Super Immune Plus Lysine. The Source Naturals is just L-Lysine, no extra stuff. This makes increasing dosage of Lysine easy without having to increase B-6 for example. The Source Naturals that I purchase is a 3-pack, which 3 bottles of 200 capsules each.
As far as the ingredients, the L-Lysine supplement, is for me without a doubt a miracle supplement. I started taking it when I saw one of my colleagues at work taking it to suppress canker sores. So I thought I would give it a try and I am happy to report that I have not had a canker sore inside my mouth in 3 years, whereas I used to get it twice per year, and would last close to 4 weeks each time. I take a regular maintenance dose of a couple caps a day. If I feel stressed out or feel a slight tingle in my mouth I go to 4 caps in the morning and 4 at night. I actually also have the power form of Lysine that I can shovel into a cup and mix it with coarse metamucil, and water and drink it, but it is a bit of a pain to do that. Caps are much more convenient. I found Lysine also helps to curb other viral annoyances such as blisters. I have not had any side effects, just relief.
