I'm a college student with a roommate and I have to get get up early a couple times a week. Didn't want to wake my roommate up so I got this. Overall it works great- vibrating function definitely wakes me up in the morning (I just leave it under two pillows). Only problem is the 24 hour clock runs 10 minutes fast per hour, but as long as you leave it on the 12 hour setting and 60 hz (I think) it'll run fine.Product Review: Loud and Proud

I was very nervous to purchase this product because of some of the other reviews. Personally what I needed was a super loud alarm clock that I could put in my bathroom so I would have to go into the other room to turn it off. It works great for that, and the flashing lights are a nice touch for me as I unconsciously stumble down my pitch black hall towards the air raid hellscream the alarm clock produces. It gets the job done every day, just make sure to unplug it if your going away. I don't use the vibrator. Product Review: Alarm clock could wake the DEAD!!

I'm in medical school, and there are several nights a month when I sleep for 3 hours or less. Prior to purchasing this alarm clock, I would often oversleep or fail to wake up from a nap, even with an incredibly loud phone alarm going off. I must have silenced it while mostly asleep.
Now, however, I ALWAYS wake up when the bed vibratory mechanism (which I place under my pillow) goes off. Its vibrations are so strong that I don't even need the sound to be turned on. I will never go another day without this alarm clock, which is perfect for anyone who has trouble waking up on only a few hours of sleep.

I bought this because I'm a DEEP sleeper (have slept right a fire alarm that woke the rest of the house) and was in search of the perfect alarm to ensure I get to work on time.
Unfortunately, I paid $30 for little more than your standard $5 alarm you can find at Walmart, with the added bonus of a vibrate feature (a feature that I don't find very effective either). I switched to this alarm from the "American Innovative Neverlate 7-Day Alarm Clock" and will most likely be switching back. I miss having a radio to wake up to because a constant beep (the Sonic Boom only has beep, no radio) just doesn't wake me. In fact, I found the blaring sound of the radio from my "Neverlate" to be LOUDER than the Sonic Boom and more effective at getting me up.
All in all, this isn't a bad alarm, it just isn't the alarm for me. Deep sleepers, consider looking elsewhere for an alarm.
I guess my quest for the perfect alarm continues...
