Well I'm 16 years old and the hardest thing to do every day is wake up and get to school. I had a "regular" alarm clock for a long time which did absolutely nothing. I then decided that, eventually, I may NEED to get up on my own! I scoured the internet and, of course, Amazon.com had what I wanted (at the cheapest price after doing research).
This clock does exactly what it says; Set the alarm for any time and the buzzer will "shake" your bed and the very loud alarm will scream you awake! You can set whether or not you want the buzzer and the alarm to go off, just the buzzer, or just the alarm. You can also adjust the tone and volume of the alarm, which I thought was cool. The big button along the top is your sleep, the 2 rollers on the right are for the volume and tone, and the 2 sliders on the left are to select what you want to go off and the brightness of the clock display. Everything works great, it's easy, it's fast, and, most importantly, it wakes you up! No matter who you are, I really REALLY doubt you can sleep through this.
Some cons would be it is indeed a *very* simple product. There is only 1 alarm as opposed to the seemingly new norm of 2 or more. IT DOES NOT HAVE A RADIO. Not that you really need it for a device like this. When they made it they had one concept in their mind: Wake people up. No fancies, just wake them up! Which works...
Now after about a week I started just hitting the switch as soon as it went off and drift swiftly back to sleep. So I suggest after that first week put the clock somewhere out of reach so you have to get up to turn it off. It will still wake you up.
The cord for the shaker is nice and long, and the shaker itself rocks. It's very small but shakes like crazy! If you've ever sat in one of those vibrating chairs (not a massage chair with the rollers, but one that shakes very rapidly and violently) it's like one of those shrunk down into one tiny little ovul container.
Overall a very good product! I haven't had it for a really long time now so I'm rather curious as to how long it will last.

I have now had the alarm for many months now without a single problem. It hasn't broken and everything continues to function properly.

So far I'm pretty happy with my new Sonic Boom clock. It wakes me up no problem! The buzzer is ridiculously loud and I love that I can change the tone higher or lower, so I dont get too used to one sound. The vibration piece is an added bonus....the thing WORKS, is all I can say. Works for me anyway, and I'm a pretty sound sleeper in the morning!Product Review: It works!

My 18 year old son has been hard to wake for years. Now that he has a job, where he needs to be on time and get up early, I thought it would be great to use this clock as a backup to his other. Yes, he has two of these. They work, however, he's one that likes to push the snooze button...so, the second is located a few steps from his bed. He has to get up to turn off that one. It is the best alarm clock I have ever tried. Only downfall, it does go on forever and when he's not home, I have to go and turn it off. It's a must try - the flashing lights, noisy alarm and buzzer under the mattress are all worth it!Product Review: It's OK

I had a similar situation as another one of the reviewers. The buzzing function was great when it worked. It only lasted about a month before it began buzzing on it's own sporadically and then it wouldn't stop buzzing. It was the best feature of this alarm clock. The alarm clock is loud as advertised but if you have neighbors that are close by, you won't have to count them as friends for long.Product Review: Just what we needed!

Alarms were totally ineffective for my 20 yr old son, so someone had to personally wake him. In an effort to make him self reliant we bought him the Sonic Boom. The vibrator alone works great to wake him (and not us)- although the alarm itself would be quite effective too. BUT I took one star off cause the unit should come with a longer cord for the vibrator. For my son its important to have to get up to turn off the unit. A 15 ft. extension cord is available, though. I recommend it as part of your initial purchase. Also, as other reviewers have pointed out you need to use the correct setting for your power supply (there are four (AC120V, 60 HZ, AC220 or 50 HZ) or the clock will not keep correct time.
