I've had profound hearing loss since the age of 2. After years of my parents waking me up, I got my first Sonic Boom Alarm clock when I was in High School. I've had it for 12 years and it still works great! I bought this one because my old one was accidently packed up in storage while moving this summer. This new style is more compact and is more aesetically pleasing, but has the same great qualities that the Sonic Boom Alarm clock has always had! I've never known anyone that could sleep through this alarm! I use just the vibrating option as that wakes me up just fine...the lights are a bit too much for me.Product Review: Great Idea, but wish it were of higher quality

Bought this product at end of October 2008. It worked great for 3-months and was using it 5-days a week with only the vibrating alarm. After 3-months the vibrating mechanism stopped working so I switched it to the audible alarm which is good also, but I want a vibrating alarm.
The good thing is the audible alarm has a volume dial control so you can adjust it to your liking.
I just found out that the combination vibrate/audible setting does make my vibrating mechanism work, but maybe only half as strong as before.
When the vibrating alarm completely poops out then I'm going to look for either a replacement vibrator or another vibrating alarm clock with hopefully better quality.

This Alarm clock is not a bad investment at all. It definitely wakes me up every morning. I bought it for the vibrator.
I'll only list the cons about this alarm clock since you guys pretty can tell the pros by looking at the specs.
- I wish the Phone cord is detachable just like all the other cords.
- The Alarm clock gets hot on certain spots and even hotter if you use the vibrator, which makes me become more skeptical of things made in China.. The plastic part I was touching is not burning hot, but I wonder if the inside could boil an egg at that temperature.
-I would not but this clock for the sound alarm because it only comes pre-set with four sounds and all four of those are pretty horrendously annoying. Well I guess that's the whole point of an alarm clock, but still.

It's kinda difficult to set the alarm (you have to use three fingers), but except of that it's a great product if you're deaf or just a deep sleeper. The telephone signaler is useful too. You can change the tone of the beep alarm. The best part is that you can choose between using the beep alarm, the vibrating alarm, both or none. I recommend it.
