Product Review: Works but very poor quality

Purchased this alarm clock as a gift for my Son about two weeks ago. There is really nothing good about this alarm except the "bed shaker", vibrator 12v output. The alarm clock is about the same grade (or what some may refer to as quality) as most of the "as seen on TV" junk. Very cheep, thin plastic, shoddy construction, overall cheep junk. The alarm is supposed to be 113dB. It's not. The alarm is no louder than most average alarm clocks, absolutely nothing special. There is a wheel to manually adjust the tone of the alarm, big deal! Once again, nothing special.
The one redeeming part of this alarm is the "bed shaker" vibrator. To call this a "bed shaker" is an overstatement. It really doesn't shake the bed. It vibrates in the bed. If you sleep with it under the pillow it would most likely wake you up.
The "bed shaker" is supposed to be 12 volt but the power pack that supplies power to the clock is 9 volt. I plan to connect a car horn to the 12 volt "bed shaker" connection. If that works without drawing too much current and burning up the alarm, then the name "Sonic Boom" might be fitting.

I have the portable model for travel and the regular model for home. I bought initially for the shaker so I dont have to wakeup my companion if i have weird alarm times. I dont even use beeper and honestly do not know how someone would not be waken by just shaker. The shortcoming I see, is the limit to alarms. They have 1 model with 2 alarms, most models have just 1, but there should be a model with more than 2 alarms for persons with medical situations, which I think was why it was originally created.Product Review: not as loud as a chain saw but ok

it works good the vibrator is great but the alarm is not as loud as i thought it would be. it is louder then most but not as loud as a chain saw
