Product Review: Earthquake Simulator

I am writing this review from the standpoint of wanting a silent vibrating alarm that would not wake my partner up.
This vibrates pretty close to an 8 on the Richter scale. It will wake anyone up, not only in the bed, but probably in the room. It is so violent, that it is actually difficult to hold while it's vibrating. It would be perfect, if the manufacturer had thought to make the vibration intensity adjustable, but they didn't think that far ahead.
If you have tremendous difficulty waking up, this will probably work for you. In fact, I think that this would wake up someone in a coma.
Another big problem is that it is quite difficult to turn the alarm off. There is a cumbersome sliding switch on the side that you aren't going to want to wrestle with when you're trying to wake up, and the clock is very thin and high, so you will likely knock it over, regularly, while trying to turn it off.

This alarm clock pretty much does the trick. I don't have to worry about sleeping through it anymore. I'm a REALLY deep sleeper, but the vibrating extension really gets me up. The only problem I have is that it tips over easily. The base of the alarm clock isn't big enough for it, so it constantly gets tipped over. I have been using this to train my daughter who just started Middle School TO WAKE UP!!!! She is using it just fine. This is a kid that initially would sleep through anything, including this at first and it woke up my Mom in the next room! She thinks it is pretty funny because it vibrates under her pillow and it is loud. I really like it and may get one too.Product Review: Extremely happy with it- does just what we needed.

I bought this for my 13 year old to be able to wake up for school (6:30am) and not wake up his little brother who sleeps in the same room together with him.
It works like a charm, one of the best things I've bought (now I don't have to wake up then to wake him up!)
i.e. we use the vibratiing mechanism, slipped under his pillow- it goes bananas - no way to oversleep.
We don't use the sound alarm (as mentioned) so I can't really comment on that other than the fact that it is LOUD.
My one gripe with the product is that the vibrating mechanism literally goes bananas shaking and if my son doesn't wake up immediately it ends up falling on the floor. When it shakes (convulses) on the floor it makes too much noise - defeating the purpose. As a simple work around, we're planning on sewing/taping the pillow shut so that the mechanism can't slip out and onto the floor.
For this reason I rated it 4 out of 5 (instead of a full 5 stars).
But I'm very happy with it and planning to get one for my oldest daughter.
Product Review: Fantastic Product for the Hard of Hearing

I am a hard of hearing person and wear hearing aids. This clock is the best thing I have had since I was a teenager and had a flashing alarm clock. The vibration is strong enough to wake you from a sound sleep without jolting you and scaring the heck out of you. The buzzer is quite loud and piercing when set on the highest decibel and will wake the entire household. So be sure if you use the buzzer you set it on a comfortable setting for you. I use mainly the vibrating alarm because it allows me to remove my hearing aids at night and still "hear" or should I say feel the alarm go off without disturbing the rest of the family. It is a great product; large flashing numerals on the clock, variable settings on the buzzer and the choice of using just the buzzer, the buzzer and the vibration or the vibration by itself. I place the vibrator disc under my pillow and it does the job great. I highly recommend this product for those who have difficulty hearing an alarm/persons with a hearing impairment
