Product Reviews of SinuCleanse Nasal Wash System, Plastic Neti Pot With Salt PacketsProduct Review: AWESOME Summary: 5 Stars
This could be the best invention for fast acting allergy relief I've ever used. I have terrible seasonal allergies and took medications almost daily but it took at least an hour to get any relief. With this little pot I get relief in as little as five minutes. This thing rocks, a little gross at times, but still rocks. I've been telling everyone about it that complain about their allergies.
Product Review: AWESOME!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have suffered from severe allergies my entire life. I have been on more medicines than i can even remember. This is the 1st over the counter item that has helped relieve the sinus pressure, the post nasel drip, the sneezes. It is so simple to use.
Product Review: AWFUL!!! I got an inner ear infection from it!!! Summary: 1 Stars
When I used the nettie pot I followed the directions exactly as indicated. After using it I could feel water in my inner ear. Nothing I did got rid of it. It was driving me crazy! I went online to investigate & see what I could do to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling of having water & pressure in my ears. It turns out that this is a very common problem with nettie pots. IN the middle of the night I woke up with a fever & my ears were burning. I had to go to the ER, and ended up spending $250 for medicines & ER visit. Please if you still purchase a nettie pot do your research first.
Product Review: After 2 years I'm still using it regularly Summary: 5 Stars
I bought one of these about 2 years ago after seeing a similar one on Oprah. Someone actually did a demo on the show (can't remember if Oprah tried it herself) and said that it really cleared her sinuses. I've found it to be very effective when I have a cold or allergies or sometimes during the winter when my nose just feels dry. It took a little while to get the hang of using it, mainly just how far to tilt your head to the side and breathe through your mouth rather than your nose. You also want to use lukewarm water as your nose can be pretty sensitive. I found that it helped cleared by nose for several hours when I had a cold and when I was getting over the cold or had a runny nose due to allergies it made my nose and sinuses feel a lot better.
It comes with some little measured packets that contain Sodium Bicarbonate and Sodium Chloride (baking soda and salt) that were easy to use. You can also use a pinch of sea salt and a pinch of baking soda to make your own if you like. I found it a little difficult to get the amount of salt just right. If you use too much it burns. Using the little packets is enough of a convenience that I ordered a refill box SinuCleanse Saline Solution 60 Refill Packets SNC-IRG60 of those.
These pots look kind of like a cross between an Aladdin's magic lamp and a teapot and come in all sorts of materials, sizes and brands. They've been around for centuries and used in ancient times which makes them seem kind of exotic. Some are glass or ceramic instead of plastic like this one which isn't really very exotic looking but gets the job done. With my habit of dropping things in the sink, this works just fine. Simple product, easy to use, and it's effective. Two thumbs up!
Product Review: After all the positive reviews... I guess I was hoping for more... Summary: 2 Stars
I generally find myself all congested up before going to sleep. I try to not use things that will give me rebound congestion. I've tried it a few times so far, but it seems to only help me for 15-20 minutes at a time.
I have no interest in repeatedly flushing saline through my nose all day to continue the bennefit.
Based on all the positive feedback on the product it must work for some folks.
I'm sure I'll try it again when hayfever season comes back, or if I get a sinus infection.
