Product Reviews of Simply Gargle Salt Water Rinse, 0.4-Ounce Ampules in 12-Count Boxes pack of 3Product Review: sort of vile . . . but it works Summary: 3 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
For years, I've been treating sore throats with a homemade mixture of salt and water, which also seems to help a little. So this product, which adds some other (mostly natural) ingredients, apparently for their antioxidant and astringent properties. Each little packet is a single-serving. My real complaint about this product is that the packets - which are made of single-piece plastic, with a tab at the top - are pretty tough to open. The instructions say to twist off the tab, but I had to use scissors and some of the fluid sprayed out. The fluid is pretty tough to take too - it sort of sprays out, and one's inclination would be to put it in a cup or a spoon, in which case, why waste all the packaging on single-serve doses and not just put it in a bottle?
And the taste is foul. I mean really foul. Worse than simple salt plus water.
BUT, it does seem to work remarkably well. I took some (as directed) at the start of a sore throat and it didn't last much longer. So I'd use this again. I would alter the packaging and, well, there's probably not much that can be done about the taste!
Product Review: truly "portable" herbal saltwater mouthwash Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
If you like a saltwater mouthwash--especially one that's easy to pack--this might be just the thing for you.
It comes as a package of individual mouthwash packets, so you can pack along as many or as few as you like.
Not just saltwater, which some do not especially like, Simply Gargle is infused with herbs like rosemary, sage, grapeseed, rose hips and witch hazel. It also contains a little boost of vitamin C.
The only thing negative I would say, is that the twist and tear tab was a bit difficult to open, but then maybe that's a good thing, as such sturdy packaging prevents unpleasant surprise leaks.
Product Review: worthwhile, useful, and also great before church Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Yes, the little packets are a bit hard to open (but better that they don't leak). But I find them most convenient; I also find them effective for making the throat feel much better when a cold's coming on. The mixture tastes herbally medicinal but is not offensive. I found that I had to learn how to gargle properly, but that comes with a few times' practice.
I find that my singing voice in church on Sunday morning is much stronger if I gargle one of these beforehand. Overall, I recommend these and intend to get more for myself.
