My Norelco rechargeable razor is about 11 years old and still going strong. This year I replaced the NiCad batteries for the second time (first time four years ago)and its back to running on a charge for 8 days. It takes some technical skill to disassemble, de-solder and solder in a new set but worth doing to save $130 or so on a replacement shaver. It used to be that you could take a shaver to a jewelry store for repair so lacking the skills and tools necessary someone might try going that route as well.

I removed two screws and removed the batteries(they have sordered connections)I snipped the connections close to the battery.The new batteries have insulated sleeves covering their connectors.Making sure of the position of the poles I slid the shaver's connections into those of the new battery.The plastic sleeves hold the connections secure whereas there is no need of sorder.The shipping is in excess but the product has has been well thought out.
