I found this while looking for a replacement for the battery pack I bought a few years ago; I thought the battery pack would no longer hold a charge, but there may have been a bad connection when I installed it the first time. As described in the other reviews, the original is soldered into the shaver instead of being designed for easy removal and replacement. The shaver's hardware told me the battery is at full charge, and perhaps stopped the charging process I thought I would have to order a new battery set but, upon opening the shaver to check the part number, I broke a connection and had to re-solder it. Now, instead of telling me the battery is fully charged, the indicator on the shaver shows me that it is charging, and the battery gets pretty warm, so maybe I didn't connect it fully or properly the first time.
The battery pack is definitely designed for the shaver and I would indeed buy another in the future, but my next shaver will definitely not be a Norelco or any other Philips product based on my experience with this product and an experience with a Philips DVD recorder (it stopped recording after about 2 years and Philips did not make the necessary replacement part available). In addition, the shaver's sideburn trimmer broke long ago and now I must use a different shaver for this task.
