I highly recommend this item to anyone concerned with the environment. I initially ordered them because of the number of paper towels we use in the care and cleaning of the snakes we raise. I love the fact that they are made using 100% recycled paper. The towels are also free of dyes, inks, fragrances and they are unbleached! These qualities are great for our snakes because reptiles are sensitive to bleach and dyes. Thanks to the "green" qualities of this product I feel that my reptiles are healthier as a result of my using them. These same qualities make them safer for use around children as well. I have also found that they are just as strong and hold up as well or better than the paper towels I formerly used in cleaning around the house. I will never go back to the name brand "pretty" paper towels. Function, safety and cost are the main criteria behind my purchases and these meet (and in some cases exceed) those concerns. These towels are good enough for what I want them for, to spray and wipe down the cat box area. But for spills and to actually absorb they are worthless. I did a test with a bounty towel and the bounty towel was ready for more but this towel was just pushing water around. So its good for some uses and bad for others. So for spray and wipe its perfect, a 5 star. For picking up a spill its a 1 star.Product Review: Decent Paper Towel

Not the best, but not the worst either. I would put these pretty much in the middle with my experience with paper towel performance variables (absorbency, strength, etc.). There is some room for improvement, but being made 100% from recycled paper, it makes for a good trade-off.Product Review: Do the math

You might be comparing these brown paper towels with the 30 rolls of Seventh Generation, white paper towels also sold on Amazon wondering which is cheaper.
Note that these brown ones are 120 sheets per roll. The white ones are 70 sheets per roll.
White paper towels
$42.01/(30*112) = 1.3 cents per sheet.
Brown paper towels
$58.11/(30*120) = 1.6 cents per sheet.
So the white ones are now cheaper, however some have mentioned that the sheets are smaller in the white roll. I'll leave it to someone else to do the cost per square foot calculation.
