I don't understand the negative reviews. We have very hard water here in Missouri and Seventh Generation detergent works much better for me than Cascade, and I only have to fill one detergent dispenser. This product is top-notch in my book. Yes, it is natural and much better than chemical-based detergents from an environmental perspective, but beware of soap particles remaining on your dishes after washing. Unless you have a very specific degree of water hardness, you will inevitably have to rinse a few (or maybe many) dishes all over again.Product Review: Clean and Healthy

I'm too lazy to wash dishes by hand but I don't like dousing the dishes I use for food with conventional dishwashing detergents laden with chemicals and all the natural dishwashing detergents I bought didn't clean my dishes satisfactorily. Seventh Generation is wonderful because it's natural and cleans my dishes very well, even if I haven't rinsed off my dishes beforehand as well as I should've. Once in awhile I still find food stuck to dishes, mostly silverware, but I figure that's either my error for a.) not rinsing it off better and b.) I crowded it too much in the washer. I pop it the dirty dish or silverware for a second round and it always comes out clean.Product Review: Cleans just as well as national brands!

I try to use environmentally friendly products whenever possible, as I have a hard time with the fumes from chemicals. I was noticing that the newer dishwasher detergents were covering up their chemical smells with a "fruity" fragrance. UGH!! That was worse than before.
Then, I discovered this product. What a Godsend! It cleans just as well as the national brands and does not leave any residue or offbeat odors on your dishes. It even works well on greasy casserole dishes and leaves your plasticware squeaky clean! I highly recommend this product.

This stuff is AWFUL. At first I noticed that ALL of my glasses had junk stuck to them..then the entire dishwasher clogged up with suds and it took us a day to clean it! I would choose something else...the laundry detergent is just as bad.
