Yes, the wax is thick and you have to heat it up very well before it's the right consistency. However, I've found that it works very well. I've tried a few different kinds of hard wax, and I'm coming back to this one because it worked the best. Since it's a thicker consistency, it's actually easier to manipulate (no wax drips all over your bathroom counter and floor). I find it's also easier to time when it's harded enough to take the wax off. With other brands I have waited too long, since the wax is more runny and was still warm and pliable. Then I ended up in serious trouble trying to get it off!
If you have trouble with wax sticking on your skin, you should be using an oil first. Make sure the oil is for hard waxes and not for soft waxes -- there is a difference!
