I got the one box of Somat for $18.94 on 10-20-2008...was able to put the whole box into the Water Softener. I live in Fort Lauderdale and we have hard water...76/4.4 grains...with the Selector Position set to MED I only got 30 to 35 washes out of one box...this is going to be an expensive habit that I can not afford...I need to find a more economical way of finding the Special Salt...Help Me!
Description of SOMAT DISHWASHER SALT (CASE OF 7)
Somat Water Softener Salt For water softening in dishwashers. Somat Special Salt is for water softening in dishwashers. Tap water often contains lime. So that lime is not deposited on dishes and the dishwasher, some dishwashers have a water softening unit which withdraws the harmful lime from the water. Table salt is unsuitable for water softening in dishwashers.It may contain insoluble components affecting the efficiency of the water softening unit.
