Product Review: Good for animals

I initially purchased this to help calm my cat for the 1100 mile move he was about to go on. I was pretty worried, because he reacted badly to sedatives when he was neutered (was actually really hyper after he woke up and came home - took days for him to completely calm down.) So although a lot of animal websites recommend going to the vet for sedatives to help cats with traveling, I didn't want him to completely freak out like he had before. I got mine at Whole Foods and tried a little bit on him on the days leading up to our move. I didn't notice a real difference then.
When it came time to move, I dosed him with the Rescue Remedy. He was an absolute angel the first night of the trip. Didn't make a peep in his carrier, didn't try to scratch it apart. I was actually really proud of the little guy. The next two days that I used it while traveling, it took a while to calm him down - maybe an hour, but after that he was perfect. Fell asleep a few times, but mostly just sat in his carrier enjoying the ride.
I've read that it helps ease the anxiety for animals moving to new places or being introduced to new pets, but I can't really speak to that yet. I held off on giving him any of the Rescue Remedy once we were at our new home, just let him take his time getting used to the new place. There is another cat and a dog here - and when we finally introduce them I will be using it on all of the animals to help ease tension.
I've also used it on myself a few times. It's certainly not as potent as a prescription anti-anxiety med, but I think it does calm me down a bit. Not much, and it takes a lot to have any effect, but there is a slight difference. Like others have said, everyone reacts differently. I would definitely recommend for traveling with pets.

I have had difficulty falling asleep in the past and recently started taking this product. I just add four drops under my tongue about an hour before going to bed. I feel more relaxed and I'm experiencing a more restful sleep. I'm not waking up as often as I used to. I tried this with absolutely no faith, positive it wouldn't work, but my therapist insisted. After too many positive experiences to call it coincidental, I'm pretty much sold. I still think you need to work on emotions with positive thoughts and other channels, but rescue remedy is a worthy component of a holistic approach.Product Review: Has no effect whatsoever
