Product Reviews of Remington WDF-1600 Smooth & Silky Ultra Shaver, RechargeableProduct Review: Remington WDF-1600 (You get what you pay for) Summary: 1 Stars
Don't buy it.
I purchased this as a gift for my wife. On the outset she cut herself. The top portion that touches the skin is called the foil. If you shave with any pressure, it will tear. If it tears while shaving, you will cut yourself. If you do not exert some pressure, you will not get a close shave.
The manufacturer says that the foil will have to nbe replaced every 6 months of use. That presents an additional expense.
Product Review: Remington WDF-1600 Smooth & Silky Ultra Shaver, Rechargeable Summary: 5 Stars
I was weary to buy a personal shaver online, but I am very happy I did. It was new of course and actually advertised accurately. I love it!
Thank you!

Bought this as a gift for my Mom and she is thrilled with its performance
Product Review: Replacement parts cost more than the razor Summary: 3 Stars
This razor is easy to use, is conveniently rechargeable, and feels good in the hand. The problem comes in if you are hoping to purchase an inexpensive electric razor. Yes, the initial purchase price, especially on Amazon, is quite good. But the long-term maintenance costs are too high. This razor comes with a product insert that states: "Under normal use, we recommend replacing the screens every 6 months and the cutters every 12 months." Remington sells the screens and cutters packaged together for $24.99 and the screens packaged separately for $14.99. You will have to purchase 2 screens and 1 cutter every year, which comes to $40/year to operate this razor after the initial purchase. This is very similar to the way that companies who sell laser printers operate. The up-front cost of printers is often amazingly cheap, but the company beggars you paying for their expensive toner.
After using the razor on both dry and wet skin, I find it works far better on warm, damp skin, so I use it either right after a hot shower or during one. The product is, as advertised, safe to use in the shower, and the instructions that come with it say to run water over the cutters/blades after every use to clean them.
I rate this razor 5 stars for ease of use, 4 for working well for shaving, but only 1 for how much it costs to keep it in working shape over time due to having to pay far too much for replacement parts.
