Product Review: Back to my old clipper
Summary: 3 Stars

I was really excited when I first heard of this product. I used it at least half a dozen times, but after that I went back to my old straight-edge clipper. I found that this clipper simply isn't very efficient in time or effort. I typically just shave my head (the ol' buzz cut), and when using this clipper I had to go over my head a lot more times before I was satisfied that I had cut all my hair down to the level I wanted. Another minus: you have to plan ahead to make sure it is fully charged before you cut.

I really wanted this product to work, but in the end I'm now back to my clipper.

Product Review: Bad Battery Life
Summary: 3 Stars

The Good:
The clippers make short work (no pun intended) of getting your hair cut. The curved clippers make it easy to get an even cut on most areas of your head, with the exception of around the ears and the sideburns. In those areas a set of flat clippers would be nicer.
The Bad:
The battery life is terrible. After 6 months I find myself charging it after each use which doesn't sound too bad except for the fact it only takes 5 minutes to shave your head. Also, the motor seems to speed up and slow down on its own, which I attribute to the battery. I could live with a bad battery if I could just plug it in and continue to use it while charging but the unit will not function when plugged in, which is just plain annoying.

So all in all, after 6 months, I find myself in the need of a new pair of clippers, which is really not as bad as it sounds as the clippers are very inexpensive and after 2 haircuts/trims they've paid for themselves. It would be nice if the battery lasted a *little* longer though.

Product Review: Battery Issues
Summary: 1 Stars

So, I purchased this product seeing all of the positive 4 and 5 star reviews thinking that this would be a great product, but my experience was far from it. I charged the product as directed for the recommended 16 hours right out of the box and during my first haircut the clippers died within fifteen minutes of trimming. I had to finish my haircut the next morning! Thank goodness for hats! I tried one more time to cut my hair only to have the clippers die on me; this time within five minutes of trimming. That's just unacceptable!

Product Review: Battery Issues - Hopefully SC100R Fixed It
Summary: 4 Stars

As many of the reviewers have noted - The battery on the SC100 is Terrible!! After a few months it may take you 2 days to get a complete haircut. My current SC100 now only works for a single pass through my hair then I have to shut it off for a few minutes. This is a process that can go on for hours. (At least it makes me keep me hair short so it'll be easier to cut and shorten the process) - I now have the new replacement the SC100R and will update this review to reflect its performance. For the moment I'll carry over my impression of the older model. Its a GREAT haircutting system!!

I wish it could be used while plugged in but I think Remington knows that you'll probably do what I did and simply buy another (Very sneaky! and possibly the reason they ignore the poor battery issue). This is something you should be aware of if you plan to buy this product. I'm holding out hope that the deluge of complaints about the first version has at least convinced them to produce a product that lasts for the better part of a year. We'll see. Stay tuned I'll be reporting back...

Product Review: Battery cannot be charged
Summary: 1 Stars

I've had these clippers for about 6 months. They are more difficult to use than you would think, and the cut is somewhat uneven. But the big problem is that after 6 months, the battery can no longer be charged. It just stays empty. And unlike the manufacturer's claims, these clippers cannot be used when plugged into the wall.
