Product Reviews of Remington Short Cut Clipper Rechargeable, Cordless, Haircut KitProduct Review: Buzz-Buzz Summary: 4 Stars
Finally a trimmer that doesn't cut my noggin!
I prefer my hair to be a 5 o'clock shadow and this nifty clipper really works well for my needs. I also use it to trim my beard, and set the trimmer length a few clicks higher.
I have read about some battery issues, but I made sure I gave the NiCads full charge before I used it and I keep it plugged in to reduce leakage.
-cheers
Product Review: CLOSE CUT Summary: 4 Stars
When they say it is a Short Cut, they are not kidding I had it set at the longest cut and it still cut very short, now that it's Winter I think that I will put it up until next Spring. Plus my wife had to help me with the back of my head and neck so that it looked even.
Product Review: Can be summed up in three words. Summary: 1 Stars
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE and TERRIBLE!
There are two good things in an otherwise vast sea of failure for this device. One: It is cordless. Two: It fits easily in the garbage can.
I bought this clipper to replace an old Wahl clipper that had outlived its usefulness. I thought that the description was pretty innovative, and waited for it to come out.
However, this thing is absolutely abysmal at the actual job of cutting hair. I keep my hair cut very short, usually a one or a two with other clippers. It should be noted that on this clipper, the #1 setting will scalp you bald.
So I went to the task of starting with a #2 trim, which didn't seem to be cutting any hair at all. I went down to a #1.5 which cut my hair very short, but it was acceptable. That is, until in the middle of cutting my hair, the guide slipped down to setting #1, scalping me on the side of my head.
Beyond that, the teeth in the comb constantly fill up with hair, having to be emptied out with a great deal of frequency. It will still cut hair while it's full, but it will keep mulching the hair that is trapped in there, creating a fine dust that spreads everywhere as the hair trapped in the guide comb keeps getting re-cut.
In short, stay FAR, FAR AWAY from this, you'll be doing yourself a HUGE favor!
Product Review: Can't go wrong, only too short... Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very good clipper for tight haircuts and a great price for what you get. The first time I used it, I ended up with great results. The balding comb will do just that on the lowest setting. Only drawback was the maximum length you can get is 1/2 inch, so you have to like it short. All in all, much easier than any other clipper out there (especially if you cut your own hair).
Product Review: Can't recommend Summary: 2 Stars
This unit does not have enough power, unless you already have hair that is 1/4 inch in length. And the power varies while it is running through your hair, sometimes creating divots. The adjustable guide changes settings unless you firmly grip the number dial while you are clipping.
To get the cut I want would take a number of very, very slow passes. With a Wahl unit that I purchased recently it is one slow pass and you are done, and has many more length options and more sturdy ones at that. The power of the Wahl is what you might expect at a salon/barber shop.
Pass on this one and get a Wahl or something similar.
