I bought these a few months back and after a few cuts the 1/2" guide broke. The guides are made of brittle, crappy plastic. I switched to the 3/4" and it broke while I was putting it on. I have cut my own hair for the past 14 years and I've never had a set of clippers break so easily. The other ones I've owned have at least lasted a year or two, but this one is only a few months old. I just tried, last night, to use the 3/8" (I think it's the 3/8", I'm angry now so I don't care) and it broke too. This is a junk product, Remington continues to sell it knowing it's junk, so to me that company is worthless. I have much better service and products from companies on Amazon that I've never even heard of. Don't buy this product: I'd give it a negative star if I could.Product Review: Wow! Thank you so much!

This unit does the job very nicely, if one isn't careful however the guide shields can be a bit tricky to get attached. After you have done it once and successfully it is a breeze.
I am especially thankful for the light weight, as I am an older fellow with only one truly functional arm. However the light weight, and rather ergonomic shape allows me to trim my own hair. This isn't as well or robustly constructed as my old Oster clipper, but if it lasts half as long it will be worth twice the price.
That Oster is a leftover from my own Mom who got it to cut my own hair back in the fifties. I inherited it when my own son was born in the seventies, and have used it ever since. It finally petered out last fall, so I purchased this Remington. I already use Remington electric shavers, and have for years. They have always given good service, I hope this Remington lives up to its brethren's reliability.
