Product Reviews of Real-Ease Neck and Shoulder RelaxerProduct Review: Does very little - here's a comparison Summary: 3 Stars
From my wife Sarah: I'm reviewing three devices including the Real Ease Neck Support, all of which I have.
I purchased the REAL-EaSE Neck Support unit years ago after reading glowing reviews on this website. It did virtually nothing for me. It did not help with neck pain, nor did it help with headaches. However it appears that some other reviewers got some results. I'm guessing that these are people who have less advanced neck issues or stress related pain.
About a year ago I was looking into going for traction for neck pain and slipped discs in my neck. A recent MRI showed 5 discs out in my neck, with two touching the spinal cord. I found a chiropracter offering the newer traction type table who told me I'd need to come 4 times a week for a while. He showed me the traction machine. In the course of doing some web research I found the Comfortrac unit NEW Model ComforTrac Home Cervical Traction Device. It pretty much looked just like what the chiropracter had, it appeared to do the same thing, and my osteopath approved it for my condition, so I bought it.
I found that it really provided me with some relief, however with my condition this was always temporary. Depending on my condition there are times it didn't work at all, but this machine gave me more relief than anything else I had tried except for chiro or osteo adjustments. I could feel it stretching the muscles, and I even would get some cracking in my neck, followed by some relief. I would definitely recommend this unit. Though it's far more expensive than the Real-Ease I found it to be worth it.
I also own the Posture Pump-Cervical Traction Device. This gives you traction in a different way - by creating a curve in your neck to open up the disks. If I had to choose between the two machines, I'd pick the Comfortrac device because it really seemed to have more impact. The lengthening strectch gave me more relief than the arching stretch. However I felt for me that they worked even better together since each does something different for me. I would start out on the Comfortrac and then spend some time on the Posture pump. Using both of these worked better than using either one by itself.
I am dealing with TMJ, and both of these devices work fine without irritating my jaw. They can be used in a modified way to avoid placing pressure on the jaw. Both are very easy to use.
After struggling with severe neck pain, headaches and TMJ for decades, I recently heard about a technique called Atlas Orthogonal practiced by only about 250 doctors in the country. A friend of mine got completely pain free after 28 years of severe pain from an accident. I found someone in my area who practices Advanced Atlas Orthogonal, and had it done. It has provided me with more relief than anything I've tried in over 25 years, including many chiropracters, osteopathic adjustments, accupuncture, cranial sacral therapy, physical therapy and the list goes on. It stopped the headaches as long as my neck is in place - I need the atlas periodically adjusted again and still have other spine and neck issues. However it reduced the pain throughout my neck, jaw and body SUBSTANTIALLY. I STRONGLY suggest anyone with neck or jaw pain look into this. It's a blooming miracle.
Product Review: Doesn't do much Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this because my neck and shoulder is always tense so I been looking for many neck & shoulder product, this one had a lot of good review so I thought I give it a try. I used it several times and found no difference in my neck and shoulder, I did not feel less tense. Another bad thing is that it is made of cheap plastic and foam, for $30+ I'd expect something a bit better built, but it wouldn't matter if the product works, expect it doesn't really do anything for me.
Product Review: Doesn't really do anything Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this product for my husband for Christmas. He has been in two car accidents and has migraines. We thought this might help. It doesn't. He feels very uncomfortable in fact. My mom has arthritis of the spine and she could not use it either. In fact, if you are short, as my mother and myself are, it doesn't do anything for you.
Product Review: Don't buy this one... keep shopping! Summary: 5 Stars
This is an awesome product!! I've had one for 10+ years now, and it's really helped me with pinched nerves and sore muscles from working on the computer 10+ hours a day. But you can find them for $30 or less from other sellers on Amazon, so please do a search before buying this one, and save yourself some $$$$$...
Product Review: Dr Riter's Real Ease Summary: 1 Stars
I PERSONALLY DON'T LIKE THIS PRODUCT AND I THINK IS WASTE OF MONEY TO SPEND OVER $40 INCLUDING SHIPPING & HANDLING. THIS PRODUCT DOESN'T HAVE THE HARD SUPPORT AND NOT STABLE IF I PLACE IT ON THE FLOOR. I FELT DIZZINESS AFTER PLACE MY HEAD ON TOP OF THE PRODUCT OVER A MINUTE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.
