I have used this detergent on all types of laundry with great success. It removed set in wine and lipstick stains that my other detergent didn't always do. Blood and mud left no trace on my husband's hunting and farming clothes. It really is a great cleaning product.
While the packaging is eco-friendly, it is not very consumer friendly. It is awkward to use and the little white cap is hard to hold on to. I accidently dropped the cap into the water in the washer while I was measuring the Prowash and it was hard to retrieve.
The price is another issue I have a problem with. While I would like to continue to use this, it is very expensive. My top loading washer requires two units(2 ounces) of Prowash. This means I will be able to wash just 12 loads with one pouch making it very costly.

I personally think detergent preferences are like soap/shampoo/perfume/lotion preferences ... everyone's taste is a little different.
Anyway, there is nothing wrong with this detergent ... it does what it says ... cleans and removes odors. I, however, generally use Tide or Cheer, and like that type of fragrance in my detergent. This detergent had a non-descript smell ... more of a wanna-be unscented. I've smelled this "scent" before, but I can't place it right now. (If I think of it, I will edit this review to add to it.) It's not bad, it just has no real smell. It did effectively clean a load of dirty, stinky towels. I would have probably had to run these towels through a second cycle with my usual detergent ... so that was a plus!
As for the container ... I usually buy the HUGE club size detergent, so this was quite a contrast. I have a tendency to be a a little clumsy. In that respect, this container is VERY unforgiving. The little cap that closes the container is TINY ... easy to drop in a small place and very easy to lose. Once the cap it lost, you would have to put the detergent in another container. In addition, when dispensing/pouring out the detergent ... if you pour too much, you are out of luck. You can't just pour it back in the container. It's probaby just an adjustment issue on my part (HUGE container to small container), but worth mentioning.
Given the cost of this detergent and the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the scent, I would probably only use this on really stinky clothing/towels, and as on occasional "booster" with my usual detergent. Again, nothing wrong with this detergent ... just more of a personal preference issue.

Pro-Wash worked as well as a top, top, top leading brand - surprisingly. But, besides the cleaning power (front-loader approved), the left-over and lingering scent that refreshes sports and hard-working men's clothes is amazingly spot-on.Product Review: Cleaned My Stinky Sweatshirts!

This product really works. I live in the Pacific Northwest and wear a lot of polar fleece while working out in the fall and winter. My clothes get stinky and regular detergent wasn't cutting it. ProWash took out all the smells and, even better, kept my fleece from getting nappy and balling up. Before ProWash, if I didn't remove my fleece activewear immediately from the washing machine, the fleece would kind of stick together and look old. I found that I can now leave my clothes in the washer for up to 3 days (it happened by accident but proved to be a good test), and the clothes still smelled fresh and looked new. I highly recommend this product to all athletes and athletic supporters. I know I always want to look and smell my best while working out.Product Review: Cleans well, funky scent

I tried this on an light gray insulated sweatshirt jacket that my hubby wears to work in. It was stained with grease and oil and had already been soaked and washed prior, in hot water and my regular detergent plus a dry oxy-cleaner. I pretreated the remaining stains with pro wash and followed the directions, washing in hot water again.
The results were fair. Some of the stains came out, some did not. Overall, the fabric appeared brighter. After being "set in", I'd say that this is a good quality detergent, better than most. The scent is pungent and somewhat irritating, not what I would call pleasant, at least prior to drying. It mellows with drying.
The true test would be use on odorous, sweat-stained, active-wear, what I think it was designed for, and I've not had the opportunity to use it for this yet. When I do, I will post a follow up to this review.
6/09 follow-up: So we've finally gotten some warm days here in the midwest. I've laundered some sweaty, smelly cotton-blend activewear tops and it's done an excellent job at removing the odor and brightening the fabric. I wouldn't use it on my whole wash due to the expense, but it seems to do the job it's designed for quite well.
