Product Reviews of Professional Halogen OPHTHALMOSCOPE / Otoscope Kit with Zippered Leatherette CaseProduct Review: Not good quality, very poor Summary: 1 Stars
Warning to all considering purchasing this item. Don't! Currently I purchased one of these units labeled "professional otoscope / ophthalmoscope". These units can be found under similar names on the internet as well as other sites. They are all the same as I found out when others in my class had the same units. They are all the same quality and visualization with these units is extremely poor. The uses very cheap attachable heads that are far too big for the ear. When visualizing the tympanic membrane, the magnification glass is not gauged correctly and causes a tunneling effect. To explain, instead of magnifying the end of the otoscope (where you are looking), it magnifies the entire tunnel, causing it to look like you are looking from a FAR distance away and you can barely see anything at all.
The ophthalmascope on the other hand....Well, it may say 3.5v, but it is more dim than the 2.5v welch allyn or ADC brands out there. Also the light is not adjustable in size. It has one size, LARGE, this makes for poor visualization of the optic nerve and vessels. You can get a red reflex, but barely. The light is too large and too dim for much of anything.
I suggest investing in something a little more expensive, there are some less expensive portable units made for companies such as welch allyn that are better priced. These units also hold their resale value.
My suggestion, buyer beware, these are not as they are described. There are several reviews that appear very fake. One noted from a neurologist below. A neurologist SHOULD be able to see a huge difference between this unit and a welch allyn. No neurologist would use this unit, especially the ophthalmascope, you cannot visualize anything.

Product Review: Retribution Feedback Summary: 5 Stars
The review left by J Schilt below is retribution feedback. He left this same feedback on two of our items even though he didnt even purchase the same item on eBay. He is upset about an otoscope he purchased from us on eBay that arrived arrived dead on arrival. We apologized to him and offered to send a new bulb wrapped in foam immediately to him and explained this would take care of the issue 99% of the time. We also explained to him that sometimes the packages can have allot of trauma and jarring before getting to their destination causing the incandescent bulb filaments to weaken and burn out prematurely but we always stand behind our products 100% and that the otoscope came with a 1 year warranty standard. He decided he did not want a new bulb but asked us to exchange and upgrade him to our LED otoscope with a lifetime warranty for free. We explained to him I was not able to do this because a new bulb almost always will fix the problem with the otoscope he already purchased and there would be an additional charge to change to the LED model. He said he wanted an even exchange because of the aggravation we put him through and because he wasnt able to use his otoscope set for a test in his physical diagnosis class in medical school. I told him again we could not do this for free so then he said he would leave bad feedback on eBay and everywhere he could find to leave it on the internet for our products.
Please see all the other feedback that has been left on this kit and it will become obvious that his feedback is left as retribution. He tries to think of every single bad thing he can say about the kit as well as making comments about other reviewers reviews.
I apologize about leaving stars on our own product since I am not really reviewing it but the review doesn't really allow for me to leave these off. We just have no other way on Amazon to respond to Product Reviews as a seller.

Product Review: ophthalmoscope/otoscope Summary: 5 Stars
I'm an experienced hospital neurologist who uses this portable ophthalmoscope/otoscope heavily.I'm mostly looking at the optic disc and peridisc area. Recent improvements in handle and switch are useful. Field of view isn't nearly as good as the wall unit so you sacrifice for portability. The leatherette pouch is a must, and I don't recommend carrying it your jacket pocket as I'd previously done. I have now gone through three portable WA portable ophthalmoscopes and found that little seasaw switch in the front flips out of place and seems an annoyance. But eventually the light, line of sight, droops, so you can no longer see into the eye and that is fatal to the unit. Using the leatherette case might extend the life of the unit. Overall a good product.
Product Review: you get what you pay for Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this inexpensive diagnostic kit to take with me on an overseas medical mission trip. The light bulb in the otoscope blew out on the 4th day of use and the ophthalmoscope is of such poor quality as to render it useless. I guess there are no shortcuts to quality.
