Product Review: UNCOMFORTABLE!

I have trouble sleeping and thought it might be the pillow. I've used one of those foam pillows with the wider part in the front for neck support for a number of years. I noted recently that my pillow seemed not to support my head as well as it use to (neck not paralell to back when laying on my side). I decided this may be part of the problem with my sleeping troubles and maybe a new pillow was in order. I did a little research and decided to try this one to see if that would help.
There is a port with a plug on one side of this pillow to fill with water. They give you a funnel to help in the process. You can put anywhere from 2 to 6 quarts of water in the pillow depending on the firmness you like -- or so the instructions say. Filling the pillow with water was somewhat cumbersome but theoretically you only have to do that once a year.
I adjusted the amount of water in the pillow several times and just couldn't make it comfortable. Actually I got a stiff neck from using it. The pillow is VERY heavy with the water in it. The water also makes the pillow cold. You would think the water would make the pillow soft but it actually felt very firm to me -- too firm -- not enough give -- even after removing some of the water. It might work for someone else but just wasn't for me. I'm going to try another foam pillow -- one of those memory ones, possibly a little thicker -- and see how that works. Good Luck!!!

I just got this, so it's not fully tested yet - but the first night's sleep was so much better than I usually get. Tip - if you normally prefer two pillows and are wondering how that works with this, you can use a normal pillow on top of this one to provide the extra height, and the firmness from the water pillow will stay the same (almost).Product Review: A new "pillow experience"

I bought this pillow to replace my old down/fiberfill pillows. I found that I was having neck problems and increased snoring. With the Mediflow pillow, what a difference! Did you ever lie down on your pillow and wish it was just a tad softer? Or firmer? Well, with this pillow you can control the firmness by just adding/removing water (which can be left in the pillow for up to one year!). So it's very low maintenance and you're in full control.
I highly recommend that you pair it with the "luxury quilted pillow cover" because it makes it that much more comfortable and it protects the pillow itself.
In short, I've never used a pillow that felt quite like this, but in a very good way. Your head seems to float on the water, but there is no waterbed type water movement or sloshing. Tired of your old pillow? Get one or two.

I have slept on a water filled pillow for about four years now. I have chonic neck pain. The Mediflow Waterbased Pillow has been a nice replacement for the one that wore out. The Mediflow Waterbased Pillow helps allievate some of my neck pain. I would recommand the Mediflow Water Pillow to anyone that suffers from chonic neck pain. The Quilted pillow cover will protect the pillow and it will not need washed so often. I think that is what ruined my last pillow. I dried it on low in my dryer and it was supposed to air dried. I could say I felt relief from the first night with this pillow, but I have to say I knew from the minute my head hit this pillow my poor neck would be much happier! No more scrunching my pillow to support my neck. And it says up to 3 quarts for firm, but I have 4 qts. in mine and might put a little more. My chiropractor fills hers even more. I'm buying these for Christmas gifts.
