Everything that ever slides off the passenger seat in my car quickly and inevitably comes to rest in the extreme forward right corner of the passenger-side floorboard. At least it feels that way. The floorboards go quite deep under the dashboard. From the driver's seat it's physically impossible to retrieve anything up there, even if you're parked and not wearing a seatbelt. The only way to grab the item is to park the car, unlock the passenger door, go around to the passenger side, open the door, and lean in far enough to retrieve the item.
This grabber is shorter than most of the grabbing devices out there and so is a perfect solution to the problem. It's long enough to make the reach, but short enough to not always be in the way inside the car. I keep it alongside the passenger side of the transmission hump, with the handle slightly wedged between the passenger seat and console (otherwise, it will end up in the corner).
