Product Review: A small price to pay for a clean, beautiful smile

This is the second Sonicare toothbrush I have used in the past few years. The first one I had was an older model but gave similar results. I used the previous model for almost 2 years while I had braces and for each of my semi-annual checkups at the dentist, the dental hygienist was amazed at how clean my teeth were even with braces. The previous model ended up breaking as the buttons got corroded, and stopped working, but given how well the toothbrush worked at cleaning my teeth I decided to give Sonicare another chance.
I've now had this model for almost a year and a half now and it looks like Sonicare really worked to improve their quality. After using 3+ times daily for 1.5 years, I have not noticed any wear on the buttons and am confident this will last.
In addition to an improvement in quality, the flexcare model uses the smaller, ProResults brush heads. Previous Sonicare models required a large replacement head that I always thought was a huge waste and very environmentally unfriendly. The ProResults brush heads use what looks like half as much plastic. It would have been nice if Sonicare passed some of the materials savings onto the consumer, but the replacement heads seem to be about the same cost from what I remember.
I also really like the addition of the UV Sanitizer. I've read research that this may be more of a gimmick than anything else, but nonetheless I like the ability to "quarantine" my brush head away from whatever germs may floating around in between brushings. Additionally, the two brush head holders in the sanitizer make it easy for two people to share the Sonicare and have their individual brush heads. This is one way you can offset the high cost (relative to a normal toothbrush).
I am 100% satisfied with this Sonicare and I recommend it to all of my friends. I also bought one for my father recently and he has nothing to say but good things as well.
I have always believed there are good things to spend money on and products that improve your health definitely fall into that category. I continue to get great feedback from my dentist and the Sonicare is the main reason. It makes perfect sense to proactively take good care of your teeth/gums in order to prevent future issues. Not only will any dental work as a result of poor dental health be much more expensive than this toothbrush, but there's always the chance that whatever damage is done cannot be reversed. Do yourself a favor and buy this toothbrush now to save yourself a headache (or toothache) later.

WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!
Just used mine for the first time and you REALLY DO come away with that "just been to the dentist clean". REALLY!!
It does TICKLE at first, ALOT, but even by the end of my first use I was starting to get use to it.
Handle is nice size, compared to their other series, and I did not notice ANY vibration in it at all! Also, handle is lightweight which I really like and the whole thing is EASY to use!
Comes with two brush sizes and that is cool as I have a small mouth, contrary to what my friends say! Ha!
It looks MUCH SLIMMER and COMPACT and a lot less cumbersome than the previous models out there.
I understand this is their newest model and I bet it will really SELL!!
I have been considering one of these brushes for a long, long time and finally took the plunge.
I opted to go without the UV Sanitizer and that is fine with me and saved $$ in the process.
It IS expensive to start out with but I LOVE that SUPER CLEAN feeling I have now, just after brushing, even for the FIRST TIME.
In fact, I am ready to brush AGAIN, tonight! THIS IS SO COOL!!
I hope to have one AWESOME checkup at my next dental appointment.
Here's hoping for NO MORE major teeth cleaning being required.
I am in hopes that this brush, used per the instructions, and by still flossing, I will be done with that dreaded scrape, scrape, scrape of the hygenist taking off the plaque!
I would say if you have ANY desire to buy this brush, DO IT! IT ROCKS!!

My teeth feel polished all day long. Sure it is a bit noisy, but the smart timer makes it impossible to brush incorrectly. My gums are now extremely healthy, and I don't expect any cavities in the future.
I am extremely disappointed in the nonreplaceable battery. I feel as this is built in obsolescence. Was it not enough to buy a $200 toothbrush and $25 3 pack of heads every so often? This could have been avoided, but then Phillips would be losing $ on the next brush we buy.

Frankly, I can't say enough about this toothbrush... First, though, my teeth have been a mess for years. This is mostly my fault due to a fear of dentist for a variety of reasons (including the time when the dentist inadvertently stuck me in the arm with a novocaine needle) which kept me from the dentist's office for a long time. My wife finally convinced me to go to a dentist, and I found a terrific one. Anyway, after a lot of work, my teeth are finally nice and healthy, and I bought this toothbrush - Philips Sonicare FlexCare Rechargeable Sonic Toothbrush with Sanitizer - to help keep my teeth in top shape. I couldn't be happier! After every use, I feel like I've just had my teeth professionally cleaned, and it's actually a lot of fun using the thing. I usually start off with the regular "Clean" function taking care to brush each "quad" section in my mouth (I usually do this twice), followed by the "Message" section to go over my gums. The end result is a squeakly clean, refreshed mouth that feels great. If you get this toothbrush, you may experience some tingling around your gums when you first start out, but you'll quickly get used to it. Oh, and I also like the onboard sanitizer to keep the brush clean and germ free. This is truly a wonderful product if you want to keep your teeth strong and healthy, and to give you a smile that'll light up a room!
