Product Reviews of Philips Sonicare HX6932/10 FlexCare RS930 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

Product Review: 1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back
Summary: 1 Stars

My original Sonicare toothbrush just gave up the ghost after just under a decade of use. Like most people, I was taken back first by the vigorousness with which it brushed my teeth, but over time became accustomed to it & my mouth felt dirty when I tried brushing it with any thing else but my Sonicare. The few things that annoyed me with my first one was 1.) the replacement brush had to be screwed on & off. 2.) Black gunk built up where the brush resided in the charger & in the thin plastic molding groove on the brush & had to be cleaned once every few weeks. 3.) the brush was larger and a bit cumbersome to maneuver around in your mouth to brush exactly the way you were supposed to. 4.) The price (& wastefulness) of getting new brush heads every 6 months. I ended up getting the premium model (as a gift) for a replacement & I must say it is a significant disappointment. The only improvement over the previous model is that the brush head isn't as bulky & easier to use. Gunk still builds up both on the bed of the charger & (now) on the underside of the brush (as well, since there is no screwing mechanism preventing water from running underneath the brush head). The brush head is easier to take on & off (just pull it off & snap it on), however I only ever had to remove the old one 2 or 3 times before it needed to be replaced. With this model, I need to remove the brush head several times a week because the brush bristles themselves collect mold where they meet the plastic part of the head. This never happened on my old model. I have a mold allergy & this downside prevents me from giving it any more than 1 star. Not only is the black mold really gross, it's actually in the part of the brush that goes in your mouth & is impossible to entirely remove. The ultraviolet light "sanitizer" that comes with the model is worthless (the previous model didn't have one, because it didn't need it!). I tried (as suggested on another review) soaking the head in hydrogen peroxide 2x a week, but mold still remains in the bristles even after soaking for 24 hours. Any other extras that come with this thing, are really only their to pad the price. So, in almost every respect, this thing is a step backwards.

Product Review: 1st time buyer

First time I have purchaed an electric tooth brush. This works great and my dentist wanted me to buy an electric model from them until I told them I had purchased the Philips Sonicare, they were pleased with my choice as well as I am pleased with this purchase.

Product Review: 2 Upgrades from My Wishlist from Philips Sonicare
Summary: 5 Stars

Awesome! Since Optiva created Sonicare, I have bought their toothbrushes. Nothing comes close in competition. My complaint with the original Sonicare was that the brush head was too cumbersome, and viola! Sonicare Elite does away with that complaint. Then, I found that garbage tends to collect in the toothbrush heads and handle base, which bothered me a lot. I was also actively trying to buy a UV sanitizer for my toothbrush after hearing that toothbrush heads collect particles from human feces (which makes sense). So I bought the Ultreo ~ the same people who founded Optiva. Well, as soon as I got to use the Sonicare Flexcare, I immediately purchased it and returned the Ultreo.

Wow! This toothbrush delivers 2 items on my oral healthcare wishlist in one fell swoop. Bravo! Philips! I am impressed that a corporation the size of Philips actually listened to its customers. I am thoroghly impressed. No more gunk collecting inside my toothbrush and I can rest easy now that my brush heads are UV sanitized! I would spend $300 for this gadget. Also, it is fantastic that this has some useful programs ~ unlike its predecessors, which left you with like gentle and hard brushing (totally useless, in my humble opinion). Really great improvement over previous models. I suppose the next revision of the Sonicare toothbrush will be an ultra-sonic model?!? I can't imagine anything more for a toothbrush ... the next step would have to be a toothbrush that flosses and scraps your tongue for you, along with brushing.

Anyway, pay for this gadget! This is awesome! Thanks Philips!

Product Review: 2 Years on and it's still the best toothbrush I've ever owned
Summary: 5 Stars

Not only is this a great toothbrush but Philips really stands behind their products. I've had my Sonicare for about 2 years now and it had worked wonderfully for my family of 3 up until about a month ago when it stopped vibrating the brush head. The toothbrush still vibrated but did not work correctly. I contacted Phillips customer support via Chat. I expected that since I was at the end of the 2 year warranty that I would be denied. I was pleasantly surprised that within about 10 minutes of starting the chat Philips determined that my toothbrush was still under warranty and sent out a replacement. This is the second Philips product I have had fail (the first one was a digital photo frame) and the second time that Philips has stood behind their product and sent out a replacement without hesitation. I am really impressed by Philips service.

Product Review: 2.5 Years.....2 Dead toothbrushes
Summary: 1 Stars

Probably the best electric toothbrush on the market, but unfortunately after less than three years I have over $200 worth of dead phillips sonicare toothbrushes. They both had the exact same issue; they stopped charging/working altogether. I tried several chargers to make sure it was the toothbrush itself that was dead, and this was definitely the case. I called phillips customer care and they couldn't/wouldn't do anything without a receipt, which I don't have. I even offered to send in both toothbrushes but they still wouldn't budge without the receipt. beware, even though they supposedly offer a 2 yr. warranty on their product, without a receipt it does not matter period. I realize this requirement is pretty commonplace but its pretty frustrating when a dedicated phillips consumer (my home is full of phillips electronics and other Phillips products) gets treated in this manner. Also, from a manufacturer/engineering perspective I would want to know why this same problem keeps popping up in two products over 2.5 years!!! I know, I know.... all this over a few toothbrushes!! Just annoying that all!! Obviously, I should have bought my toothbrush(es)from Amazon, no questions asked customer service all the time!!
