Product Reviews of Philips Sonicare HX3351/02 Xtreme Battery Operated ToothbrushProduct Review: Great item! Summary: 5 Stars
After thinking about buying one of these to replace my normal toothbrush I bit at this one because of its lower price. There really is a noticeable difference! My teeth feel smoother and cleaner after brushing than with my old brush.
I have not had any problems with water intrusion, but I've been careful about not soaking the thing. I've also only had it about a month.
Overall I'm very happy with the product and would buy it again.
Product Review: Great product, great value Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned two other Sonicare Power Toothbrushes over the past many years and have loved them both except for one thing. The rechargeable batteries are not replaceable. When they eventually failed, I have had to throw away the otherwise perfectly good toothbrushes. I hate waste, and this obvious scheme to shorten the life of their products to force me to buy a new toothbrush infuriated me.
Now I discovered the Xtreme e3000 model which comes with replaceable alkaline AA batteries. It is intended for pre-teens and teens. I am 69, but it works great for me. Like all Sonicare Power Toothbrushes, it does a great job of removing the plaque from under the gum line and preventing gum disease. I use NiMetalHydride rechargeables instead of alkaline AA batteries. A charge lasts many times longer than the charge on the non-replaceable batteries in my previous two Sonicare brushes. I recommend it to anyone of any age.
Product Review: Great toothbrush Summary: 5 Stars
This little sonicare has a lot of power. I have had it almost a month now and love it. It sure beats paying for a higher price one that requires a recharging base. I like how portable it is.
After use rinse off toothbrush and then towel dry. This will keep the batteries from getting wet. If that is to much to handle then just lay down vertical on a dry surface so that water does not drip into the battery compartment at the bottom.
Product Review: Great toothbrush - replaceable NIMH betteries (you supply) is way better than non-replaceable NiCad Summary: 5 Stars
I had mine for over 3 years. Works like a charm. It has been in luggage lots of times too. I don't recall ever dropping it in a sink full of water or with the faucet running or dropping it into a toilet or a full bathtub or running shower, so I cannot credibly deny the 1-star review complaints. I bought a bunch as gifts for my friend and his family and two of four (the ones the kids used) died in the first few months. The 5-stars is based on my personal experience. Just don't expose the battery end (bottom half) to more than a short modest spraying of water and it should last a long time for you. You can buy 3 of these for the price of the traditional model and works just as good. Get your heads in 6-packs at Costco - much cheaper 6 for the Amazon/Wal-Mart price of 4. Yes the heads are expensive but if you don't have braces or whatnot you probably can push a 6-month replacement cycle.
Product Review: Great toothbrush, surprising battery life Summary: 5 Stars
I have a high-end Sonicare and my 9 year old daughter kept borrowing it so I wanted to get her her own, but not spend so much. I ordered her one of these and it worked great, so well, in fact, that I'm not sure I needed the rechargeable for myself since I don't use any of the extra features. My other daughter, who is 8, wanted her own, so I bought her another.
If you haven't used Sonicare, it does take a little getting used to, but it really cleans beautifully. And this brush is an excellent and very economical introduction to Sonicare.
