Product Reviews of Philips Sonicare HX3351/02 Xtreme Battery Operated ToothbrushProduct Review: Good Buy Summary: 5 Stars
This toothbrush works much better than the same type of toothbrush that I paid a LOT more money for and after 2 years or so stopped working. The battery replacement had to be hard-wired in, so most people just throw them away and buy a new one instead of sending it out to be repaired. The Philips toothbrush is battery operated so doesn't have that problem....just replace the batteries!!
Product Review: Great all-round dentalcare Summary: 5 Stars
Extreme toothbrushes work as good as the more expensive models(31,000 strokes a minute and excellent brush head)..minus a few bells and whistles(which personally don't need as I know how to brush my teeth). It does have a two minute timer which is useful. It uses AA batteries instead of bulky, specialized chargers...very convenient especially for travel. tickles a little when first using and good gum massager. Heads do cost a little($10 to $18 a piece every three months), but well worth it. Recommend getting multipack on the heads 'with the rebate offer they give you with purchase', you get one free.(-:
Product Review: Great first time electric toothbrush! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this about a year ago and it was my first electric toothbrush. I wasn't sure if I'd like using an electric but the combination of a low price and great ratings persuaded me to buy it. I have to say it works very well! At my dental checkups the dentist always comments that I don't have much plaque on my teeth and since I've started using it, I have had few cavities. I'm not sure if the toothbrush is responsible for that or not.
One of the best features is that it has a two minute timer, so that I always brush for the amount of time that dentists recommend. It's gotten me into the habit of brushing that long even when I'm using a different toothbrush. My only complaint is that it uses regular AA batteries. I find that the batteries generally last somewhere between two and four weeks, but after a few days the speed of the brush head slows down quite a bit. I tried using rechargeable AAs, but they don't deliver enough current to make the brush run.
Because of the low price and the ease of use, this has been a great electric toothbrush to start out with. I think I'll be getting a rechargeable one in the near future though.
Product Review: Great for on the go teen! Summary: 4 Stars
Purchased this toothbrush for my teenage grandson. It is simple to use (batteries v charger) and portable as he moves between places. Perfect solution with Sonicare quality.
Product Review: Great for travel and dorm life Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this toothbrush for travel because we didn't want to carry the charging base from our other Sonicare toothbrush. It has been great. Uses the same brush heads, just operates on AA batteries. The batteries last long enough for a 2-week vacation - I don't know how much longer they'll go. My son took one to college, too, so he didn't have to worry about recharging one more electrical device.
