Product Review: Great brush, weak battery.

I purchased a new 7500 Elite on amazon.com in August 2004 after our old trusty original Sonicare gave out (it was 4 years old and the batteries would not hold charge anymore).
After just one year the battery in this new 7500 Elite would not hold charge for more than a day and now in November 2005 would not even complete a full 2 min. brush cycle anymore.
I called Phillips SOnicare Customer Support. They are quickly to get on the phone, you have to have the brush and charger at hand because they run you through a few tests. After the test they determined that the handle battery was defective and sent a brand new one without any questions asked.
MAKE SURE TO SEND IN YOUR WARRANTY REGISTRATION WHEN YOU BUY ONE OF THESE !! The customer service rep immediately found my registration and purchase data and the warranty replacement was not problem.
RATING: Brush is only a 3 because it is the best brush out there, but has a short battery life. Customer Service is a 5+ because you get a very helpful person very quickly on the phone and warranty is no problem if you registered your product at purchase. Thank you Phillips!!
The replacement handle also comes with a renewed full warranty!
Product Review: Great but keeping it clean is a problem

I love my new Sonicare. My teeth and gums have never been cleaner. My husband and I have noticed a big difference in the condition of our teeth since we purchased it.
My problem is with cleaning it after use. I've tried using q tips, cotton, etc. because it says that you shouldn't run it under water. If you don't clean it out it gets quite fowl. I wish there was an easier way to keep it clean. It takes too much time in the morning to try to get into the crevises of the brush to clean it.
I recommend this because it has really helped to improve the condition of my teeth and gums. But maintainence and battery charging problems (I've read this from other reviewers) may make me look for another brand once the battery is dead. For the money I spent, I shouldn't have any worries.
Product Review: Great for Whitening Teeth

This product has done more to whiten my teeth than all the whitening toothpastes in the world. I only wonder why I didn't think to buy one years ago! I'm a heavy coffee drinker, so this is just what I need. Also, your entire mouth feels fresher after brushing with it than with a regular toothbrush. The Sonicare Elite 7500 does what it says it will, my teeth have never felt this clean without visiting the dentist! But I'm not sure if it's worth the price increase over the previous model. I don't have the previous model to make an informed comparison, but it seems that buying the cheaper Sonicare would have sufficed. This model does however come with a nifty travel case. The only real problem I am having is the water that accumulates in between the head and the base; it needs to be kept dry in order to keep clean. I read a lot of reviews before buying Sonicare Elite, and decided to do so based on the fact that if Sonicare prevents a single cavity, it has basically paid for itself. So I splurged, and the results were great.
The first time I used Sonicare Elite for 2 minutes, I felt like I had just had a dentist clean my teeth for an hour. After a week of using it, I knew I could never go back to a normal brush. My teeth and mouth felt amazingly clean all day long based on brushing just twice a day.
Then recently I broke the charger by plugging it in in Europe without a transformer, and have been forced to go back to a regular toothbrush. After a few months of using Sonicare Elite, this is possibly one of the worst things that could have happened to me. You can brush all you want with a manual brush, but it's just not the same. You can't really move plaque with a standard brush.
So, of course, I called Philips imediately to order a replacement. I was shocked when they said they would send me a new charger free as a courtesy. I was totally amazed! This is a great toothbrush, and a great company standing behind their product. It's worth every penny.
